NFL Week 9 parlay: Let's make some money
We started out well in Week 8 as the Philadelphia Eagles covered their number (-6.5 vs. Washington) and the New Orleans Saints vs. Indianapolis Colts game flew Over the 42.5 total as we hit the first 2 legs of our 3-team parlay. But then the Los Angeles Rams (+6.5) were blown out at Dallas as we lost leg 3.
Now, it's on to a new week and a new wager to try and make some money. Let’s do it!
After looking at FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL Week 9 odds, here is a "Let's make some money" NFL parlay bet to cash in on among SportbookWire's NFL expert picks and predictions.
The Colts Over was an easy choice last week as were the Eagles at -6.5. Although Philly did look dicey at the start. The Rams +6.5 and our bonus play -- the Baltimore Ravens -8.5 getting back doored at Arizona only to win by 7 -- were more challenging ... and they caught us.
This week, we're going to attempt to find the best of the best and not fool around with challenging numbers. Can we find them? Who knows? But we're sure going to try.

NFL Week 9: Let's make some money parlay
Odds provided by FanDuel Sportsbook; access Paste BN Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday at 7:58 a.m. ET. All games on Sunday and ET unless noted.
Leg 1: Dolphins vs. Chiefs OVER 50.5 (-110) -- 9:30 a.m. (NFL Network)
This marquee matchup will be played in Frankfurt, Germany.
For a supposedly high-powered team, the Chiefs have only gone Over their posted total in 2 of 8 games, but this game is against the Dolphins, who lead the NFL in scoring at 33.9 points per game (PPG).
If the Chiefs want to win Sunday, keeping up with the Jones, or in this case the Dolphins, will be necessary. Not only has Miami WR Tyreek Hill broken the record for fewest games to get to 1,000 receiving yards in a season, but the Dolphins have been running the ball well.
Ranked No. 1 in the NFL at 151.8 rushing yards per game, Miami will be going against a Kansas City run defense ranked 18th in allowing 111.6 YPG. The Chiefs pass defense, ranked 2nd at 176.1 YPG will also find a difficult matchup against a Dolphins pass offense that leads the NFL with 301.5 YPG.
Miami has a complete offense. It also has a so-so defense, one which will allow the Chiefs to score enough to get this game Over ... no matter which team wins.
Kansas City and Miami are both 6-2 straight up and lead their respective AFC divisions. So, picking a side is difficult, but not as difficult to see the number of points which will be scored.
Take the easier play and BET OVER 50.5 (-110) as the 1st leg of our parlay.
Leg 2: Colts at Panthers OVER 43.5 (-115) -- 4:05 p.m. (CBS)
The Colts (3-5) have lost their last 3 games. In doing so, they've allowed their opponents in New Orleans, Cleveland and Jacksonville to score a total of 114 points. At the same time, the Colts have yet to score less than 20 and have gone Over the total in 6 of their 8 games.
The Colts surrendered 38 points to the Saints in an 11-point loss last Sunday, and an equally mediocre Panthers offense (1-6) is up next. The Indianapolis defense ranks last in the NFL in least points allowed per game (28.6).
Carolina QB Bryce Young and coach Frank Reich will look to gain their 2nd victory of the season after defeating the Houston Texans 15-13 at home for Win No. 1 Sunday. Reich will also be looking to gain a modicum of revenge on a team which fired him in 2022 and replaced him with Jeff Saturday.
Expect both teams to get to 20 and, with the OVER being 43.5, this should be a number worth taking as the 2 leg of the parlay.
Leg 3: Cowboys at Eagles OVER 46.5 (-115) -- 4:25 p.m. (FOX)
The Eagles defense, usually a strength, has been a bit lackluster in recent games. Philadelphia (7-1) has played 3 NFC East games against 2 rivals this season. Completing a season sweep of the Commanders (3-5), the Eagles gave up 31 points in both games -- winning 38-31 last Sunday and 34-31 in OT in Week 4.
Dallas (5-2) will be another divisional game and another familiar opponent. One with far more talent than Washington. The Cowboys are coming off a 43-20 blowout of the Rams in Week 8.
The Cowboys rank No. 2 in scoring, averaging 28.1 PPG, while the Eagles defense has allowed 21.5 PPG (19th). On the opposite side, Philadelphia has averaged 28.0 PPG, good for No. 3 in the NFL, while the Dallas defense allows just 17.1 PPG (4th).
However, the Dallas defense does not play away from home. Over the last 3 road games, Dallas has allowed 29.0 PPG -- it did shut out the New York Giants 40-0 in a season-opening road win.
Philly fans will be ready to get into the heads of the Cowboys players during this important matchup. This one might start out slow, but it will not remain that way for long.
Expect a high-scoring second half and, as a bonus bet, TAKE THE EAGLES (-134) in the third quarter. They come out hot after making halftime adjustments.
Parlay payout: Bet $10 to profit $56.73 (payout = $56.73).

Leg 4-*: BUCCANEERS ML (+128) at Texans -- 1 p.m. (CBS)
*-If you want to add a 4th play to this parlay.
Houston (3-4) returns home after a 15-13 loss at Carolina -- which claimed its 1st win of the season last week -- to take on the Buccaneers (3-4), who are coming off an extended rest following a 24-18 loss at the Bills Thursday night in Week 8.
While the Buccaneers scored with 2:44 remaining against the Bills to make it closer than the score indicates, the connection of QB Baker Mayfield and WR Mike Evans was undeniable with another TD in the loss.
Houston is getting better, and QB C.J. Stroud should be the favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year, but the Tampa Bay passing game will be more than the Houston defense can manage in this matchup. Mayfield will be able to find Evans, who returns to near his college stomping grounds at Texas A&M. Expect Evans to have a big game, which will free up a Tampa Bay rushing attack that has only garnered 77.9 YPG (ranking 30th).
While the Buccaneers only have 3 wins in the young season, 2 of them have come on the road. This will be a good chance to get a 3rd and, depending on what happens in the other games in the division, remain close to the NFC South lead.
Parlay payout: Bet $10 to profit $142.14 (payout = $152.14).
