Spurs at Pacers picks and predictions

Prediction

Pacers 121, Spurs 118

Moneyline

PASS.

The Pacers are at home, and the Spurs will be without Vassell, one of their top scorers. Both those bode well for Indiana to win outright. San Antonio has value, but the odds are more enticing on the spread.

Against the spread

LEAN SPURS +7.5 (-110).

The Pacers haven't performed well as of late. They are 1-3 straight up and ATS over their last 4 games and have allowed at least 116 points per game in 3 straight and have allowed at least 125 in 2 of their last 3.

Defensively, Indiana just hasn't been able to stop anyone, and with Wembanyama in the paint, limiting high-level field goal opportunities may get more difficult. The Pacers rank last in defensive rating.

The Spurs are 2-1 straight up over their last 3 and 2-1 ATS over that span. They beat the Suns twice and would have covered against Toronto had the game not gone to overtime. They are finding their identity and should do enough to cover here.

Back SPURS +7.5 (-110).

Over/Under

BET OVER 238.5 (-110).

Both teams are 5-1 O/U this season. Both rank in the bottom-6 in the league in defensive rating with the Pacers sitting 3rd in pace as well. Indiana plays at a fast tempo and doesn't defend, a perfect recipe for scoring.

The Spurs rank 9th in pace, so they won't be the ones slowing this game up. The better bet for both sides this season as has been the Over, and given the style of play, this should be a high-energy game.

Take OVER 238.5 (-110).
