Season series: First meeting; split last season 1-1

The Raptors covered the spread as 3.5-point favorites Sunday with a 123-116 OT win at the San Antonio Spurs as the Over (222) hit. Toronto came back from a 22-point deficit to get its 1st road win of the season.

The Mavericks covered as 1-point favorites with a 117-102 win at the Orlando Magic on Monday as the Under (230.5) cashed. G Luka Dončić scored 12 of his 29 points in the 4th quarter after returning from bumping his head on a Magic player in the 3rd quarter.

Toronto covered in both meetings last season, and the O/U went 1-1.

Moneyline

The Mavericks (-200) look like 1 of the best teams in the Western Conference this season and should have no trouble beating the Raptors, who are 1-2 on the road. However, there's no need to pay the higher price on the moneyline when Dallas should also cover.

PASS. Lay the points and/or bet the total instead.

Against the spread

The Raptors should let down after coming back from a 22-point deficit last time out. Toronto covered twice as an underdog against Dallas last season, but both of those games were before the Mavericks traded for G Kyrie Irving.

The Raptors' backcourt is their weakness now after losing G Fred VanVleet in the offseason, and it should be overwhelmed trying to keep up with Dončić and Irving. Raptors F Pascal Siakam no longer seems like the leader they expected him to be and has scored 20 or more points just twice in 7 games.

Dallas has too much talent for Toronto to keep this one close, especially after such an emotional win at San Antonio.
