Arizona at Duke odds, picks and predictions

The Arizona Wildcats (1-0) head to Cameron Indoor Stadium to face the  Duke Blue Devils (1-0) on Friday at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook lines around the Arizona vs. Duke odds as we make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

Arizona is No. 11 and Duke is No. 3 in the Paste BN Sports Coaches Poll. Both teams got easy 30-plus point victories to kick off their seasons. The last time these 2 met head-to-head was in Tucson in 2013 and the Wildcats won that game 72-66 as 3-point favorites.

The Blue Devils beat the Dartmouth Big Green 92-54 on Monday. Sophomore C Kyle Filipowski led all scorers with 25 points and chipped in 7 rebounds. Senior G Jeremy Roach, freshman G Caleb Foster, and junior G Jaylen Blakes all had double-digits points in the victory.

Arizona was very balanced in a dominating 122-59 victory over the Morgan State Bears on Monday as 8 Wildcats scored in double figures. Sophomore G Kylan Boswell led the way with 18 points on 4-of-6 shooting from behind the arc. Arizona held the Bears to under 40% shooting for the game.

This will be a homecoming of sorts for G Caleb Love, who returns to Tobacco Road for the 1st time since transferring from North Carolina during the offseason. He has plenty of experience playing in front of the Cameron Crazies and I'm sure they'll have lots to say to him in this game.

Arizona at Duke picks and predictions

Prediction

Duke 74, Arizona 70

Moneyline

PASS.

I am going to give Duke the edge in this game because of their experience together. This squad has a lot of chemistry built from last year but Arizona was pieced together through the transfer portal. But I'm not confident enough in it to bet the Blue Devils especially not at -210.

The Wildcats will be a terrific team this season, but I feel like they need time to gel together. Going into Cameron Indoor and getting a road win this early in the season would be a great accomplishment, but I don't think it happens.

Against the spread

BET ARIZONA +4.5 (-102).

I really like the Wildcats as a team, they have a lot of talent and their coach Tommy Lloyd is top notch. The Blue Devils will likely get up early in this one as Arizona gets their feet under them in a harsh road environment. The Wildcats will fight back in the 2nd half and make it a game which is why I like them plus the points.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 153.5 (-110).

This is a huge early-season matchup between 2 really good teams. There will be a lot of nerves especially for these talented freshmen on both sides of the ball. I think that number is just too high for this early in the season.

Both of these teams are still working in their new pieces and there will be some kinks to work out.
