San Diego State at BYU picks and predictions

Prediction

BYU 72, San Diego State 70

Moneyline

BET BYU (-128).

This San Diego State team isn't the same one that made the deep postseason run last season. It lost its top-two scoring weapons in Matt Bradley and Darrion Trammell.

Ledee dominated in the opener, but averaged under 10 points per game last season, so it is still up in the air whether he can play at that level and that efficiency against a quality opponent.

BYU was a strong 12-4 straight up at home last season. The Cougars are bringing back two of their top three scorers, including their leading scorer F Fousseyni Traore. That experience and their strength at home should help them out on top.

Take BYU (-128).

Against the spread

PASS.

This one has all the makings of a close battle, so play the moneyline instead of the spread.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 145.5 (-105).

BYU was just 5-10 O/U at home last season, and the Aztecs had one of the toughest defenses in the nation down the home stretch of the season. San Diego State was 16-22 O/U and lost a few of its key scorers.

With this being an early-season game, both teams may also struggle in their offensive sets and executing well against a strong opponent. With those trends from last season coupled with potential execution struggles, back UNDER 145.5 (-105).
