San Francisco 49ers at Jacksonville Jaguars odds, picks and predictions

The San Francisco 49ers (5-3) and Jacksonville Jaguars (6-2) meet Sunday at EverBank Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the 49ers vs. Jaguars odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The 49ers failed to cover the spread as 4.5-point home favorites in a 31-17 loss Oct. 29 to the Cincinnati Bengals as the Over (44) hit. San Francisco, which had a bye in Week 9, has lost 3 straight, but will be getting WR Deebo Samuel (shoulder) back after he missed most of the last 3 games.

Before their bye last week, the Jaguars covered as 2.5-point favorites in a 20-10 win at the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 29 as the Under (41) cashed. Jacksonville has won and covered in 5 straight.

These teams have played each other once since Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence was drafted in 2021. The 49ers covered as 6.5-point road favorites in that meeting with a 30-10 victory as the Under (45) hit in 2021.

49ers at Jaguars picks and predictions

Prediction

49ers 23, Jaguars 17

Moneyline

It's unlikely that the 49ers (-175) will lose a 4th straight game — especially after their bye week. However, there's no need to pay the higher price on the moneyline when San Francisco should win by more than a field goal.

PASS. Lay the points and/or bet the total instead.

Against the spread

Jacksonville has won 5 straight, and the market has decided that it should be a home underdog to the 49ers, who are on a 3-game skid. Both teams are coming off a bye, but the time off should mean more for 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan, who is among the best offensive minds in the league.

The 49ers have been banged up during their 3-game skid, but the offense should return to form with Samuel, and potentially Williams, coming back from injury. We're paying a premium on San Francisco, but this should be the week it goes back to playing like 1 of the best teams in the NFL.

BET 49ERS -3 (-115).

Over/Under

The 49ers allowed a season-high 31 points last time out in their 3rd straight loss. Defensive coordinator Steve Wilks makes the move from the booth to the field in Week 10 and should provide San Francisco's defense with the extra motivation it needs to return to form. Look for the 49ers to bounce back after the bye and rattle a Jaguars offense that scored just 1 TD last time out.

BET UNDER 45 (-110).
