Duke vs. Michigan State picks and predictions

Prediction

Duke 74, Michigan State 69

Moneyline

DUKE (-165) is worth playing as it looks for the bounce back in Chicago against Michigan State (+140).

The Blue Devils have won 8 of the past 10 meetings between these college basketball titans, including an 85-76 victory in the NCAA Tournament in the most recent meeting on March 20, 2022, in Greenville, S.C. This will be the 1st meeting between Duke coach Jon Scheyer and MSU coach Tom Izzo.

Against the spread

DUKE -3.5 (-110) is the play to get the win by more than 2 buckets in Chitown. Both of the teams have already taken a loss, but losing to Arizona is no shame, while Michigan State +3.5 (-110) losing to James Madison is a lot more inexplicable.

The Blue Devils are deep with Kyle Filipowski, Mark Mitchell, Tyrese Proctor, Jeremy Roach, etc., and it will be too much for the Spartans to handle. Plus, Michigan State's perimeter game has been horrific in the first 2 games, hitting just 16-of-56 (28.9%) from downtown.

Over/Under

OVER 141.5 (-110) is worth a look, but play it lightly.

While both of these teams have split the Over-Under through the 1st 2 games so far, the total has cashed in 6 of the past 8 meetings in this series.
