Orlando Magic at Chicago Bulls odds, picks and predictions
The Orlando Magic (5-4) and Chicago Bulls (4-7) square off Wednesday with tip-off from United Center set for 8 p.m. ET. Let's analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the Magic vs. Bulls odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.
Season series: First meeting; Magic won 2-1 last season
The Magic were dismissed 124-104 by the Brooklyn Nets Tuesday night in the in-season tournament. They have lost 3 of 4 but are 2-2 ATS during the stretch. F Paolo Banchero (18.9 PPG) and F Franz Wagner (18.8 PPG) lead this young Magic squad.
The Bulls narrowly covered as 9.5-point dogs in a 118-109 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks Monday. They have traded wins and losses over the last 4, but they're 3-0-1 ATS in the process. The Bulls are led by the trio of G Zach LaVine (21.9 PPG), F DeMar DeRozan (21.2 PPG) and C Nikola Vucevic (17.6 PPG). All 3 can score and get to the rim, but DeRozan is out for this game due to personal reasons.

Magic at Bulls picks and predictions
Prediction
Magic 114, Bulls 109
Moneyline
With DeRozan out, LaVine figures to be aggressive on the offensive end. That also leaves a big void that the young and lengthy Banchero can exploit in getting to the rim. The Bulls are just 24th in the league in 3s with 11.2 per game. Orlando is 27th in 3s with 10.5 per game, but they push the pace, tied for 14th in the league at 99.1. The Bulls are a slow, 95.9, which is 28th. Orlando will get a lead and keep the misfiring Bulls in the rearview.
Take the MAGIC +110.
Against the spread
We're taking Orlando on the ML, but it makes sense at this rate to take the spread as well. The Magic are 7-3 ATS this season, and in the event they can't get it done on the road, the MAGIC +2.5 (-110) is a solid choice.
Over/Under
As mentioned, the Bulls offense runs at a slow pace, and they don't shoot the 3 very well. They're still 6-5 O/U on the year, while Orlando is 4-6. With DeRozan out, the pace will be different because LaVine will handle the ball and push the pace more. He likes to get to the rack and shoot the 3, whereas DeRozan is more methodical in how he attacks. This is a low total, and I think the OVER (-110) cashes Wednesday.
