Seattle Kraken at Edmonton Oilers odds, picks and predictions

The Seattle Kraken (5-8-3) meet the Edmonton Oilers (4-9-1) on Wednesday at Rogers Place. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook's lines around the Kraken vs. Oilers odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Kraken have been on a roller coaster this season, and it's mostly been a lot of downhills. Seattle has won just once in the past 5 games, including a pair of home losses to the Colorado Avalanche and Oilers at Climate Pledge Arena by a combined 9-2 score.

The Under is 1-0-1 in the past 2 games at home, but the Over is 4-1-2 across the past 7 games overall.

The Oilers halted a 4-game losing streak in Seattle on Saturday with a 4-1 win, and they carried it over to Monday with another 4-1 victory at home against the New York Islanders. The win was coach Kris Knoblauch's 1st since taking over for the fired Jay Woodcroft.

The Under has cashed in each of the past 3 games. Edmonton has picked up consecutive games for the first time this season.

Kraken at Oilers projected goalies

Philipp Grubauer (3-6-0, 3.37 GAA, .891 SV%) vs. Stuart Skinner (3-5-1, 3.27 GAA, .876 SV%)

Grubauer allowed 4 goals on just 17 shots in a period of work against the Oilers on Saturday, and he was pulled for a shower after 20 minutes. He has alternated losses and wins in each of the past 4 starts, going 2-2-0 with a 3.93 GAA and .877 SV% in the month of November.

Skinner turned aside 32 of the 33 shots he faced against the Islanders to give Knoblauch his 1st win behind the Edmonton bench. Skinner has consecutive wins, allowing just 2 goals on the past 51 shots. He is 2-3-0 with a 3.04 GAA and .886 SV% in 5 November outings, slowly showing signs of a turnaround.

Kraken at Oilers picks and predictions

Prediction

Oilers 4, Kraken 2

Moneyline

The Oilers (-184) is just a little bit past my personal limit for a singular moneyline play. As part of a multi-team parlay, I can live with including Edmonton, but straight up, PASS and look to the puck line instead.

Puck line/Against the spread

The OILERS -1.5 (+130) is a better play a plus-money. Edmonton has racked up a pair of back-to-back 4-1 wins, but be careful. The Oilers are still just 2-4 in the past 6 games as a favorite, losing 4 of those outings outright.

The Kraken +1.5 (-156) have been on the short end of a pair of losses by 3 or more goals in the past 2 outings as an underdog. Seattle is 6-2 in the past 8 games on the puck line as an underdog, however, so tread lightly. If the Kraken didn't just fall on home ice against the Oilers Saturday, this pick might be different.

Over/Under

UNDER 6.5 (+106) is worth a look at plus-money, but again, go lightly.

The Kraken have managed a total of just 2 goals in the past 2 games. Meanwhile, the Under has hit in 3 in a row for the Oilers, including the most recent meeting. The Under is also 4-1 in the past 5 games for the Kraken against the Pacific Division, while going 7-2-1 in the past 10 against teams with a losing record.
