Auburn picked up its 1st win of the season on Friday, 86-71 over the Southeast Louisiana Lions while failing to cover as a 24-point favorite. The Tigers have been solid offensively to start the season, scoring 84 points per game, but have struggled on the defensive end, allowing 79.5 PPG.
Notre Dame suffered its 1st loss of the season Saturday in a 71-61 setback against the Western Carolina Catamounts, failing to cover as a 4.5-point favorite. The Fighting Irish have yet to find a rhythm offensively as they average just 65.5 PPG. What's been keeping the Irish afloat is their defense that allows just 67 PPG.

Auburn is clearly the better team, but it is 0-2 ATS this year and only beat Southeast Louisiana by 15, making it hard for me to believe that the Tigers will be able to beat Notre Dame by 16 or more. Auburn's offense should see some success in this matchup, but its defense will allow the Fighting Irish to keep this one closer than it should be.

Over/Under
LEAN OVER 145.5 (-110).
Auburn's solid offense combined with its defensive struggles should allow this game to hit the Over number of 145.5. Notre Dame has been horrible offensively, but even this Fighting Irish squad should be able to put up 70 or more points on this Tigers defense. The Fighting Irish have not been a very efficient shooting team, shooting only 44.1% from the field, but I expect that number to be closer to 50% against this Auburn defense that has been struggling.
