Boston College at Pittsburgh odds, picks and predictions
The Boston College Eagles (6-4, 3-3 ACC) and Pittsburgh Panthers (2-8, 1-5) meet Thursday at Acrisure Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the Boston College vs. Pittsburgh odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.
The Eagles secured bowl eligibility with a 6th victory in a 17-10 win in Syracuse on Nov. 3, covering as 1-point favorites as the Under (47.5) cashed. That's a good thing, too, as B.C. was crushed 48-22 at home against Virginia Tech as a 3-point underdog as the Over (48) hit last Saturday. That snapped a 5-game winning streak and a 3-1 ATS run.
The Panthers have no shot at a bowl, and Pittsburgh slipped to 2-8 SU with a 4th consecutive loss at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx against Syracuse last Saturday. Pitt fell 28-13 as a 3.5-point favorite as the Over (38) cashed. The Panthers are now just 2-7 ATS across the past 9 games.

Boston College at Pittsburgh picks and predictions
Prediction
Boston College 24, Pittsburgh 21
Moneyline
BOSTON COLLEGE (+125) is a value play at plus-money. Yes, it is actually bowl eligible, but now it's playing for a better bowl and a better payday. There is still plenty left to play for as far as the Eagles are concerned.
Pittsburgh (-150), on the other hand, is a moderate favorite for no real good reason. This team is 0-4 SU/ATS in 4 games as a favorite against FBS opponents this season, so there is no reason to start believing in it now.
Against the spread
BOSTON COLLEGE +3 (-110) is a decent play catching the points, if you feel this is going to be a 1- or 2-point game in favor of Pittsburgh -3 (-110). If not, just play the Eagles straight up.
Over/Under
UNDER 45.5 (-110) is the lean, going with a half-unit play at most.
The Eagles have scored 22 or fewer points on offense in each of the past 3 games, going low in 2 of those. The Eagles had allowed 24 or fewer points in the previous 5 games before Virginia Tech dropped a 48-spot on them last week. That's a bit alarming, but overall, B.C. has been strong defensively.
The Panthers have managed 17 or fewer points in each of the past 4 games, and the Over-Under is 2-2 during the span. The total will be very close, so go lightly, but based on Pitt's awful offense, going low is the play.
