Belmont at Arizona odds, picks and predictions

The Belmont Bruins (2-1) head to McKale Center to face the No. 3 Arizona Wildcats (3-0) on Friday at 11 p.m. ET (Pac-12 Network). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook lines around the Belmont vs. Arizona odds as we make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

Belmont is coming off a 93-59 win vs. Division III Berry College — a game that was not on the board. It shot 57 percent from the field but committed 16 turnovers. Belmont is widely known as 1 of the better mid-major programs in the country, but it was picked to finish 5th in the Missouri Valley Conference in a preseason poll. It has 13 consecutive seasons of 20 wins or more.

Arizona, which is No. 3 in the Paste BN Sports Coaches Poll, continues a 3-game homestand after beating the Southern Jaguars 97-59 and covering as a 31.5-point favorite Monday. It is led by F Keshad Johnson, a 5th-year senior transfer who is averaging 15.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. He had 17 points last time out and was 1 of 6 Wildcats to score in double figures.

The only meeting between these teams took place March 21, 2013, in the 1st round of the NCAA Tournament. Arizona won 81-73, behind 23 points from G Mark Lyons.

Belmont at Arizona picks and predictions

Prediction

Arizona 91, Belmont 69

Moneyline

PASS.

You should avoid betting Arkansas (-10000) because the odds are outrageous. Just look to the spread and total if you want to make a bet.

Against the spread

BET BELMONT +24.5 (-110).

I'm going against the grain here because Arizona has covered the spread in all 3 of their games thus far, and Belmont has failed to cover in any of their games.

The Wildcats are still riding high after their huge win over the Duke Blue Devils last Friday night. This team has gelled together much faster than most anyone has expected, but I feel like it is due for a wake up call. The Bruins are well coached and will be up for this challenge.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 171.5 (-105).

I know these teams score a lot of points, but I can't tell you to bet the Over on such a high total. The Wildcats will do their part, but Belmont will struggle to hold up its end.

Belmont is only shooting 48.1 percent from the field this season, which is way below what you would expect from this team. Arizona has held its opponents to just 38.0 percent for the season.
