Louisville at Miami odds, picks and predictions

The No. 9 Louisville Cardinals (9-1, 6-1 ACC) travel to Miami Gardens, where the Miami Hurricanes (6-4, 2-4 ACC) stand in their way of the ACC Championship game. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET (ABC). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the Louisville vs. Miami odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Louisville is coming off a 31-24 home victory against Virginia Nov. 9, failing to cover as a 20.5-point favorite. QB Jack Plummer threw for 243 yards with 2 TDs, while RB Jawhar Jordan ran for 95 yards and RB Isaac Guerendo ran for 94 yards, including a TD.

The Louisville defense has been sturdy, allowing only 17.1 points per game, which ranks 13th in the country. The Cardinals are ranked 9th in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by Paste BN Sports.

The Hurricanes are coming off a close game of their own, a 27-20 loss at Florida State where Miami covered as a 14-point underdog. QB Tyler Van Dyke returns as the stater Saturday, thrust back into the spotlight after being benched for freshman QB Emory Williams, who suffered an injury last week.

Louisville at Miami picks and predictions

Prediction

Louisville 30, Miami 20

Moneyline

LOUISVILLE (-110) IS THE PLAY.

With Miami's Van Dyke starting again, one has to question his confidence. He hasn't tossed a TD in his last 2 starts when things began to fall off the cliff for Miami this season. Although Miami has never lost a home game to Louisville -- going 6-0-1 -- I think this might be the one, exacerbating coach Mario Cristobal's in-conference struggles during his tenure.

Against the spread

Prefer a full point of security? I could see backing Miami -1 (-105). This game could go either way. Whichever way you're leaning in this toss up, buying the extra point with the spread and get yourself some value. However, I do see the Cardinals taking this one on the back of their defense. The Cardinals Ashton Gillotte won defensive lineman of the week last week. For the U to have any chance of spoiling Cardinals coach Jeff Brohm's honeymoon-type season, the 'Canes defensive will have to show out.

PASS.

Over/Under

Don't be shocked if Miami gets an early lead and Louisville is playing from behind. The Cardinals' only loss this year came on the road to Pitt. However, I see the Hurricanes' Van Dyke having enough time to get comfortable and score some points.

Although I don't see the 'Canes winning, I do see them driving this score up. So, LEAN OVER 46.5 (-110).
