Memphis suffered yet another loss in a 134-107 blowout vs. the Los Angeles Lakers Tuesday, failing to cover as a 6.5-point underdog. Memphis struggled in all facets of the offense vs. LA, only having 1 starter score in double figures and shooting only 36.8% from the field as a team.

San Antonio's losing streak was increased to 7 games thanks to a 129-120 loss vs. the Sacramento Kings Friday. The Spurs failed to cover as 8.5-point underdogs vs. the Kings. Defense continued to be a problem for the Spurs as they allowed Sacramento to shoot 54.1% from the field.

LEAN GRIZZLIES (-148).

I like Memphis especially because they will be the more rested team as the Spurs are playing on the back-end of a back-to-back and will likely be fatigued. The Grizzlies are also the slightly better team from range, hitting 14.1 3's per game compared to San Antonio's 12.2. The Spurs have also only won 1 game at home this year, being 1-5 in such games.

Against the spread

LEAN SPURS +3 (-110).

These are very evenly matched squads and while Memphis is better defensively, San Antonio is better offensively. Both teams are bottom of the league in both categories so the gap isn't big by any means, and for that reason I expect this to be a close game that the Spurs will make interesting.

Over/Under

BET OVER 226.5 (-110).

Neither of these teams are good defensively, and while neither are anything special offensively either, I don't expect either team to have much success stringing together stops on the other. The Over is 8-2 in San Antonio's last 10 overall and has hit in each of the last 4 Memphis-San Antonio matchups.
