The Baylor Bears (4-0) and Oregon State Beavers (3-1) meet Wednesday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn in an opening-round game of the NIT at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook's lines around the Baylor vs. Oregon State odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

Baylor, which is No. 12 in the Paste BN Sports Coaches Poll, opened its season with a Nov. 7 tester against Auburn, but the Bears have had an easy slate since. Off to a 4-0 start for the 3rd time in the last 4 years, BU is averaging a robust 15.3 offensive rebounds per game.

Oregon State struggled their way to wins in back-to-back mid-November overtime wins against foes ranked outside the KenPom top-150. And the Beavers come into this game off an 84-63 loss to Nebraska on Saturday. OSU was a 7.5-point underdog against the Cornhuskers; it is 1-2 against the spread.

PASS. No value to be found between these prices.

Against the spread

BU figures as much the best here. But the spread here levels the proposition to the point of no leverage. AVOID.

Over/Under

A little Baylor rust an an off shooting night in a neutral venue would go a long way to shoring up a nice Under play for this one. BU has not played since Nov. 14; that's 7 off days leading up to this contest.

The Bears have shot 43.1% from distance and typically rack up a lot of mid-range jumpers also. A bit of overall regression wouldn't be a surprise. BU should still gets its looks, especially in the 2nd-chance and free-throw departments. But Oregon State plays at a snail's pace, and even a convincing Baylor win may have the Bears well below their season scoring average.

Throw in the schedule here, too. Perhaps Baylor takes the foot off the gas to have more in the tank for a prospective Friday title game against either Florida or Pitt.

BET THE UNDER 142.5 (-105).
