Chicago Bulls at Toronto Raptors odds, picks and predictions

The Chicago Bulls (5-11) and Toronto Raptors (7-8) square off Friday in the In-Season Tournament with tip-off from Scotiabank Arena set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let's analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the Bulls vs. Raptors odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Bulls lead 1-0

The Bulls are coming off a 116-102 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Chicago has lost 5 of its last 6 games and is 0-2 in the tournament. The road doesn't get any easier as they're in the 2nd game of a 4-game road trip. G Zach LaVine (foot) missed Wednesday's game and is questionable for this one.

The Raptors are also 0-2 in the tournament and have a big hill to climb if they want to advance because of a -22 point differential in their 2 tournament games. They snuck by the Indiana Pacers 132-131 in their last game on Wednesday. F Pascal Siakam had 36 points and 10 rebounds in the Raptors' 2nd-largest points output of the season.

Bulls at Raptors picks and predictions

Prediction

Raptors 110, Bulls 104

Moneyline

The Raptors have had their 2 biggest scoring games in the last 3 games, but the Bulls are quietly the 10th-best defense with 111.3 points allowed per game. They just won't have enough offense to keep pace if LaVine is indeed out. With that said, the Raptors are far too inconsistent to put -210 on.

Instead, take DEMAR DEROZAN OVER 22.5 POINTS (-110). He has 23 points in 3 of 4 games and will have to make up for LaVine's lost scoring. He had 33 against Toronto earlier in the season.

Against the spread

The Bulls are 5-10-1 ATS and 2-4 on the road thus far. The Raptors are 8-7 ATS and 4-4 at home. As mentioned, the Raptors posted 142 against the Detroit Pistons Sunday and 132 against the Pacers Wednesday. I like them to find an answer for Chicago's defense and cover.

Take the RAPTORS -5.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The 1st meeting went well south of the 216.5 number with a 104-103 score in overtime. So it's interesting the books are running it back with basically the same number and a very questionable LaVine, who pushes the action more than DeRozan. The Bulls are 7-9 O/U, and the Raptors are 8-7.

This is also the 2nd game on the Raptors' new In-Season Tournament floor, which drew heavy criticism from Boston Celtics G Jaylen Brown, who said it was far too slippery and caused him to injure his groin. That's another reason for teams to use caution and the UNDER 217.5 (-115) to hit.
