Ohio State at Michigan odds, picks and predictions

The Ohio State Buckeyes (11-0, 8-0 Big Ten) and Michigan Wolverines (11-0, 8-0) meet Saturday at Michigan Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET (FOX). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the Ohio State vs. Michigan odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Buckeyes roll in with 2 straight blowout wins over Michigan State and Minnesota by a combined score of 75-6. The Buckeyes covered in both of those routs while going 5-1-1 ATS across the past 7 games overall. The Under has cashed in 2 straight, and 7 of the past 8 contests overall.

The Wolverines survived at Maryland last week, hanging on for a 31-24 win, but they never threatened to cover as 17.5-point favorites as the Over (51.5) cashed. Michigan is still 5-2 ATS across the past 7 games, while the Over is 5-1-1 during the span.

Michigan will again be without coach Jim Harbaugh, who was suspended by the Big Ten due to the sign-stealing scandal. Linebackers coach Chris Partridge was also fired last week due to evidence of tampering in the NCAA investigation.

The Wolverines look to extend their win streak in the series to 3 games, which would be their longest successful run in the series since winning 3 in a row from 1995-97.

Ohio State is No. 2 and Michigan is No. 3 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by Paste BN Sports.

Ohio State at Michigan picks and predictions

Prediction

Ohio State 29, Michigan 23

Moneyline

OHIO STATE (+140) is a solid play as moderate underdogs in this titanic rivalry game. Michigan (-165) has played well this season, but the Wolverines just have too many off-the-field distractions.

While Michigan persevered at Penn State and at Maryland since Harbaugh was suspended, it nearly lost against the Terps. Perhaps that was just a case of looking ahead to this giant matchup, but it's going to be very difficult without the head coach on the sideline for this huge battle. Advantage Ohio State.

Against the spread

OHIO STATE +3.5 (-115) is a solid play, if you would like a little bit of insurance. No one can blame you, as this rivalry game is usually tight.

The Buckeyes enter 5-1-1 ATS in the past 7 games overall, while Michigan -3.5 (-105) is on 5-2 ATS run in the previous 8 outings. It could very well come down to the 4th quarter, and whomever has the ball last wins.

Over/Under

OVER 46.5 (-110) is a strong play, as the total has gone high in each of the past 9 meetings in this series.

Michigan ranks No. 1 in the country, allowing just 235.5 total yards per game and only 144.8 passing yards per contest. However, it hasn't faced the Ohio State passing offense, and Heisman hopeful WR Marvin Harrison Jr. should put a dent in those numbers.

Ohio State also ranks No. 2 in the nation with just 9.3 points per game allowed and only 252.9 total yards per contest. However, it hasn't faced QB J.J. McCarthy, RB Blake Corum and Co. We've seen this game produce a lot of points recently, and we should at least get into the 50s in this battle of unbeatens Saturday.
