San Jose State at UNLV odds, picks and predictions
The San Jose State Spartans (6-5, 5-2 Mountain West) and UNLV Rebels (9-2, 6-1) meet Saturday at Allegiant Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the San Jose State vs. UNLV odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.
The Spartans head to Vegas on a 5-game winning streak, covering 4 of those outings, all within the Mountain West Conference. San Jose State is 5-1 against the spread (ATS) in the past 6 games, and 8-3 ATS in 11 games overall this season. It is now bowl eligible, too, after a 24-13 win against San Diego State last weekend in the Bay Area.
UNLV has won 3 in a row, has covered 4 straight, and is 10-1 ATS on the season. The total has ended up going high at a 2-0-1 clip in the past 3 games, all inside the conference, while cashing at a 6-2-1 pace in the previous 9 outings overall.
The Rebels have the inside track on a spot in the Mountain West Championship Game, as they simply need to win, and UNLV will make its 1st-ever appearance in the big game as the top overall seed. The Rebels have a pretty fair chance of making the MWC title game even with a loss. San Jose State is still alive, too, but it needs to win, and get a little bit of help, too.

San Jose State at UNLV picks and predictions
Prediction
UNLV 32, San Jose State 29
Moneyline
UNLV (-145) is a solid play at home as it looks for win No. 10 and the top seed in the Mountain West Conference Championship Game.
It won't be easy cooling off red-hot San Jose State (+120) and QB Chevan Cordeiro, however, as this offense has been humming. I actually prefer the moneyline play over laying the points, as this one should have a razor-thin margin.
San Jose State has won 8 of the past 10 meetings in this series while going 7-2-1 ATS during that span, so this play is based mostly on UNLV's success against everybody else this season, and not on historical trends.
Against the spread
Play UNLV -2.5 (-110), although I prefer the moneyline play for a little extra wiggle room. It wouldn't be surprising to see this one decided by 1 or 2 points, quite frankly. Both of these sides have been cover kings this season.
San Jose State +2.5 (-110) would be an even better play if you can get this at a flat 3, or better yet, 3 and a hook.
Over/Under
OVER 59.5 (-110) is a nice play in this surprisingly good matchup. Not many people had San Jose State or UNLV still being alive for the league title game heading into the final weekend, but both are alive and well. Not many people expected explosive offense from these teams, either, but here we are.
UNLV has cashed the Over at a 6-2-1 pace in the past 9 games overall, going 2-1-1 in the past 4 at home. San Jose State has actually gone low in 3 of the past 4 games overall, but the offense has produced 35 or more points in 4 of the past 5 games, and it is good for 20 or more points in 7 in a row.
