Cleveland Browns at Los Angeles Rams odds, picks and predictions

The Cleveland Browns (7-4) and Los Angeles Rams (5-6) meet Sunday at SoFi Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the Browns vs. Rams odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

With only 6 weeks remaining, the playoff race in both the NFC and AFC are coming down to the wire. Sunday's game is an important one for both teams as they try to improve their standing in their respective conferences.

The Browns are 7-4, but they're not clinging to the 6th seed in the AFC very tightly, especially with QB Deshaun Watson on the shelf for the rest of the season. They're just 1 game ahead of the Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans and Denver Broncos, so each game down the stretch is critical. The Browns come into this one after losing to the Broncos in their last game, 29-12.

The Rams are just a half-game out of the 7th spot in the NFC after Seattle's loss on Thursday night. They're riding a 2-game winning streak, their 1st streak of the season, and will try to make it 3 straight with a win over the Browns. QB Matthew Stafford and WR Cooper Kupp are both healthy, though not 100%, and will try to keep the offense on track against Cleveland's No. 1-ranked defense.

Browns at Rams picks and predictions

Prediction

Rams 17, Browns 13

Moneyline

The Rams (-190) have won each of their last 2 games, both against NFC West opponents. As good as they looked in their 37-14 win over the Arizona Cardinals last week, the Browns defense presents a much greater challenge.

The Rams are too inconsistent a team to bet at -190 on the moneyline, though they have the big advantage at quarterback with Stafford going up against either QB Joe Flacco or Thompson-Robinson. PASS on the moneyline and bet on the spread instead.

Against the spread

The Rams snapped a 4-game ATS losing streak by covering against the Cardinals as 1-point favorites. The Browns, on the other hand, snapped a 4-game cover streak by losing to the Broncos as 1-point underdogs.

If the Rams can just put up 20-plus points, they should be able to cover against a Browns offense that will struggle to move the ball. They could even get it done with a pair of touchdowns and a field goal, knowing it's unlikely Cleveland will score two touchdowns.

BET RAMS -3.5 (-115).

Over/Under

There isn't a strong Over/Under trend for either team this season, with the Over going 5-5-1 in the Browns' 11 games and 4-7 in the Rams' 11 contests. The Rams have struggled against some of the better defenses in the league, and Cleveland is a different offense without Watson under center, scoring more than 17 points only twice in 5 games with their backup quarterbacks.

BET UNDER 40.5 (-110) in this one.
