Detroit Lions at New Orleans Saints odds, picks and predictions

The Detroit Lions (8-3) travel to face the New Orleans Saints (5-6) in Week 13 on Sunday at Caesars Superdome. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the Lions vs. Saints odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Lions suffered a 29-22 home loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 12, falling short of covering as 8.5-point favorites, and the Over (46.5) connected. Detroit was on a 3-game winning streak before losing to Green Bay, and it remains in 1st place in the NFC North.

The Saints failed to cover as 1-point road underdogs, and the Under (41.5) cleared, in their 24-15 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12. New Orleans is amid a 2-game losing streak and is currently on the outside looking in for the NFC playoff race.

Lions at Saints picks and predictions

Prediction

Lions 27, Saints 17

Moneyline

While the Lions (-200) should secure the win on the road, I'll PASS on their moneyline at the current odds.

Against the spread

BET LIONS -4 (-110).

Despite the loss to the Packers on Thanksgiving, the Lions are still 7-4 ATS overall and 4-1 ATS on the road. Meanwhile, the Saints are 0-4 ATS at home this season.

On top of that, there's a chance New Orleans is without its top 3 receivers as Olave and Shaheed are questionable, while WR Michael Thomas is on injured reserve. The Lions should also have success running the ball against a Saints defense that is 22nd in run-defense DVOA.

Over/Under

UNDER 47 (-110) is the lean in this matchup as the Saints and QB Derek Carr could continue struggling to put up points. Even though the Lions have been involved in plenty of shootouts, the Saints have scored fewer than 20 points in back-to-back games, and they'll likely be shorthanded at wide receiver.

New Orleans is 3-8 to the Over this season, and they are 1-3 to the Over at home.
