Kansas City Chiefs at Green Bay Packers odds, picks and predictions

The Kansas City Chiefs (8-3) and Green Bay Packers (5-6) battle on Sunday Night Football at Lambeau Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the Chiefs vs. Packers odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Chiefs received a scare from the Las Vegas Raiders early on last week but managed to cover as 9.5-point favorites with a 31-17 winner. Ironically enough, that was the score I projected in last week's column. QB Patrick Mahomes was 27-for-34 for 298 yards, 2 TDs and no INTs. RB Isiah Pacheco picked up 2 TDs on the ground.

The Packers took care of the Detroit Lions 29-22 Thanksgiving Day. They were 8.5-point underdogs going into the game. QB Jordan Love was 22-for-32 for 268 yards, 3 TDs and no INTs. RB AJ Dillon picked up 43 yards on 14 carries, and the Packers will be without RB Aaron Jones (knee) again this week. These teams haven't faced one another in the regular season since 2021.

Chiefs at Packers picks and predictions

Prediction

Chiefs 21, Packers 13

Moneyline

Weather may be an issue here. The forecast is calling for temperatures in the low-30s with a chance of light snow. The wind chill is expected to make it feel in the mid-20s. I don't think that's enough to lean toward the underdog Packers because they simply have too many injuries. They could slow the pace down and run Dillon between the tackles. The Chiefs could have trouble in that kind of a game if the wind affects the aerial stuff. But, again, the Packers are without their top RB and have several concerns on defense.

So I'll PASS on the ML and look to the spread.

Against the spread

The Packers are 6-5 ATS and 3-2 at home this season. The Chiefs are 7-4 and 4-1 ATS on the road. This is a slippery spread here, especially with potential weather concerns. I would wait until closer to kickoff and let this number come down to 5.5 or lower.

But, if I'm forced to choose, I'll take CHIEFS -6 (-110).

Over/Under

Pretty small total here, but I don't think KC scores more than 24. The Packers would have to put up 20 to cash an Over, and I don't see that — especially in cold weather. The Chiefs are 3-8 O/U this season, and Green Bay is 5-6. The Under has cashed in the last 3 games at Lambeau.

Take the UNDER 42.5 (-110).
