UFC Fight Night 233: Rob Font vs. Deiveson Figueiredo odds, picks and predictions

In a 3-round flyweight bout on the main card, Rob Font and Deiveson Figueiredo meet Saturday at UFC Fight Night 233 — also known as UFC on ESPN 52 — at the Moody Center in Austin. Let's analyze FanDuel Sportsbook's around the UFC Fight Night 233: Font vs. Figueiredo odds, and make our expert picks and predictions.

The prelims can be viewed on ESPN+ starting at 4 p.m. ET, while the main card begins on ESPN/ESPN+ at 7 p.m. ET.

Records: Font (20-7-0) | Figueiredo (21-3-1)

Font is looking to bounce back from a unanimous-decision loss to Cory Sandhagen last time out in early August. He has suffered 3 losses in the past 4 fights, but it's been against a who's who in the division. He has losses to Sandhagen, Marlon Vera and Jose Aldo, with a KO/TKO win at UFC 287 over Adrian Yanez during the 4-bout span.

Figueiredo lost in a title fight at UFC 283 against Brandon Moreno back in late January. He is 1-2-1 in his past 4 bouts, all against Moreno. He was the belt holder after UFC 270, winning via unanimous decision, but then he gave the strap back after a doctor stoppage TKO last time out.

Font holds a 3.5-inch reach advantage, while he also owns a 5.71-to-3.09 significant strikes landed per minute advantage. Figueiredo is much more accurate with his strikes, however, posting a 59.35% in the category, to just 47.73% for Font.

Figueiredo is better on takedowns, too, posting a 1.44 takedown average and 42.11% takedown accuracy percentage, with a 1.80 submission average.

UFC Fight Night 233: Rob Font vs. Deiveson Figueiredo picks and predictions

Fight result (2-way line or moneyline)

The former champ FIGUEIREDO (+114) is a value play at plus-money on the 2-way line. He can do it a number of ways, whether it's via KO/TKO or submission. In fact, his work on the canvas is probably his biggest advantage in this fight.

Figueiredo has that tremendous 1.80 submission average, and he has a 42.11% takedown average. If he gets this fight to the canvas, it's going to be bad news for the favorite, who wants to keep this a toe-to-toe brawl.

I like FIGUEIREDO BY SUBMISSION (+550) for an opportunity to multiply your initial wager by 5½ times. If you don't want to declare a winner, playing SUBMISSION (+440) for the method of victory for a chance to multiply up by more than 4 times, regardless of the winner, is also an attractive play, albeit a little more conservative.

Over/Under (O/U)

NO (-116): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is worth a look, as we have 2 quality fighters who aren't going to leave it in the hands of the judges to decide a victor. Figueiredo's work on the ground is the difference and why this one ends early.
