Indiana at Michigan picks and predictions

Prediction

Michigan 74, Indiana 70

Moneyline

PASS. No value to be found between these prices.

Against the spread

Michigan is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games. IU is 2-1 ATS over the last 3 games of this series.

UM's intermediate and long-distance shooting numbers are suspect and due for some regression, and that's where most of the value in an Indiana play lies. The Hoosiers also figure as the best bet to leverage the free-throw line. They rank 4th in the nation in getting to the line. They're shooting a click under 70%, but the Wolverines have struggled their way to a 65.3% mark so far.

Michigan's travel lately has been wonky. The Wolverines have played in the Bahamas and in Eugene, Ore., over the last 12 days. A misfire here wouldn't be a shock.

There is an injury concern for IU. Senior G Xavier Johnson is questionable with a foot injury. The Hoosiers are still a workable play without his 10.5 PPG, but consider going in with just a partial unit unless he is confirmed as being available.

TAKE INDIANA +7.5 (-110).
