Syracuse at Georgetown odds, picks and predictions
The Syracuse Orange (6-3) and Georgetown Hoyas (5-3) meet Saturday morning at Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. Tip-off is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook's lines around the Syracuse vs. Georgetown odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.
The Orange head to the nation's capital to renew their old Big East rivalry with the Hoyas. These teams met last season at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, with the Orange coming away with the 83-64 win as 7.5-point favorites as the Over (145) cashed. The home team has won the previous 5 meetings, with the Hoyas posting a 4-1 against the spread (ATS) mark despite the non-cover last December.
Syracuse is coming off an 81-70 win and cover as 4.5-point favorites against Cornell Tuesday, cashing the Under (164.5) rather easily. The Orange are 3-1 ATS in the past 4 games, with the Under going 5-2 in the past 7 tilts.
Georgetown lost a heartbreaker to TCU at COA last time out Monday, although it easily covered the 9.5-point number as underdogs. Still, the Hoyas are just 2-5 ATS in the previous 7 outings. The Over is on a 4-1 run for Georgetown, too.

Syracuse at Georgetown picks and predictions
Prediction
Georgetown 81, Syracuse 77
Moneyline
GEORGETOWN (+100) is worth a look on its home court, especially at even-money. The Hoyas have been playing well lately, and they nearly pulled off the upset against a decent TCU team. That loss snapped a 4-game winning streak, although the best win in the run was probably an 88-83 OT win over fellow DMV resident American on Nov. 19.
Head coach Ed Cooley Jr. has a team which can run, and score plenty of points. If the defense is better, they're going to win a lot more games than they lose.
Syracuse (-120) has played well at home, including a signature win over LSU this season. But when it has hit the road, it is 0-2 SU/ATS off campus, including an 84-62 road loss at Virginia in the most recent trip on Dec. 2.
Against the spread
GEORGETOWN +1.5 (-110) is worth a look, if you strongly believe Syracuse -1.5 (-110) will win, but just by a single point. If not, just play the Hoyas straight up for a slightly lower price.
While Syracuse has covered 3 of the past 4, it was blown out in its only true road game at Virginia. And Georgetown has played well at home, going 5-2 SU with a so-so 3-4 ATS mark. However, the Hoyas have covered 4 of the past 5 in this rivalry, while the Orange just have been different in road and neutral site games.

Over/Under
OVER 152.5 (-110) is the way to go, and the total came down 2 points Saturday morning.
Georgetown has scored 83 or more points in 4 of the past 5 games, cashing the Over at a 4-1 clip during that same span. The only miss was a 69-67 win over Merrimack in which the Hoyas shot a dismal 36% from the field, and 67% (28-of-42) from the free-throw line, while turning it over 18 times, and they still won.
Syracuse has split the Over-Under in the past 4 games, although the total went high in its only true road game at UVA, while going 2-0 in the past 2 games away from home.
