Houston Rockets at Memphis Grizzlies odds, picks and predictions

The Houston Rockets (12-9) go up against the Memphis Grizzlies (6-17) on Friday at FedExForum. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Let's analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the Rockets vs. Grizzlies odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Houston leads 2-0

The Rockets cruised to a 117-104 win over the Grizzlies on Wednesday to cover as 9.5-point home favorites, and the Over (210) connected. Houston is on a 4-game winning streak, and C Alperen Sengun has been fantastic with 10 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game thus far.

The Grizzlies lost their 3rd straight contest on Wednesday to the Rockets in another lopsided defeat. Injuries continue to plague Memphis, but G Ja Morant is expected to return soon following a suspension to begin the season.

Rockets at Grizzlies picks and predictions

Prediction

Rockets 108, Grizzlies 100

Moneyline

Unless you can get the Rockets (-160) to win at -150 odds or better, I'll PASS on wagering on the moneyline in this contest.

Against the spread

BET ROCKETS -3.5 (-110).

The Rockets are the much better team right now, and there's a chance Bane isn't at full strength or even active for the Grizzlies on Friday. Houston has won by at least 10 points in each of the 1st 2 meetings this season.

In their 1st 21 games, the Rockets are 15-5-1 ATS. On the other hand, the Grizzlies are 3-8 ATS at home this season.

Over/Under

It's risky to side with such a low Under, but I'll take UNDER 212.5 (-105) in this matchup. Both teams are inside the top 10 in points allowed — the Rockets allow the fewest points per game in the league — and Houston plays at the 3rd-slowest pace.

If Bane isn't at full strength or he is sidelined, it's hard to envision a scenario where the Grizzlies produce enough points for the Over to hit. The Rockets are 7-14 to the Over this season as they've given up 107 or fewer points in 7 of their last 10 games.
