Atlanta Hawks at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and predictions

The Atlanta Hawks (10-14) are slated to face the Cleveland Cavaliers (13-12) on Saturday at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Let's analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the Hawks vs. Cavaliers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Cavaliers lead 1-0.

The Hawks cruised to a 125-104 victory over the Toronto Raptors Friday, covering as 1.5-point road underdogs, and the Under of 241 connected. Atlanta snapped a 5-game losing streak with its win over Toronto as G Trae Young produced 38 points and 11 assists.

The Cavaliers failed to cover as 8.5-point road underdogs, and the Under of 227.5 hit in their 116-107 defeat to the Boston Celtics Thursday. Cleveland has lost 3 straight games, and it will be without G Darius Garland and F Evan Mobley for a decent period.

Hawks at Cavaliers picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 118, Hawks 114

Moneyline

Even with Garland and Mobley sidelined, I'll back the CAVALIERS (-140) at home in Saturday's contest. The Hawks are on the 2nd leg of a back-to-back, and they are dealing with injuries of their own.

Against the spread

CAVALIERS -2.5 (-110) is how I'd bet on the spread with G Donovan Mitchell still available for Cleveland. The Cavaliers are 3-2 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

Meanwhile, the Hawks are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall and 6-18 ATS on the season.

Over/Under

UNDER 237.5 (-110) is the ideal play in this matchup despite the Cavaliers surrendering 116-plus points in back-to-back games. Cleveland is still 8th in defensive rating as it allows the 8th-fewest points per game (110.9).

While the Hawks play at the 3rd-fastest pace in the NBA, the Cavaliers will likely try to slow the game down sans Garland and Mobley. The Cavaliers are 3-7 to the Over in their last 10 games overall.
