Baylor vs. Michigan State odds, picks and predictions

The Baylor Bears (9-0) and Michigan State Spartans (4-5) meet Saturday at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Tip-off is scheduled for approximately at 2 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook's lines around the Baylor vs. Michigan State odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

The Bears roll into the Motor City looking to maintain their unblemished record. Baylor has not only won all 9 games to date, including neutral-floor wins over Auburn, Florida and Oregon State, it is 5-0-1 against the spread (ATS) in the past 6 games overall. The Under has cashed in the past 2 games after a 4-0 run to the Over.

The Spartans haven't exactly been ready for primetime yet, falling in marquee games against Arizona and Duke, while also dropping the first 2 conference games in the previous 2 outings. Sparty is just 1-3 ATS in the past 4 games overall, while cashing the Under in 7 of the past 8 games overall.

Baylor is No. 6 in the Paste BN Sports Coaches Poll.

Baylor vs. Michigan State picks and predictions

Prediction

Baylor 81, Michigan State 69

Moneyline

BAYLOR (-144) isn't priced out of line as a moderate favorite straight up, and it's an OK play if you do not want to fiddle around with the points in this neutral site battle. However, I personally prefer to just lay the points for a much better value instead.

Against the spread

Roll with BAYLOR -2.5 (-112), as it is unbeaten and playing much better basketball than Michigan State +2.5 (-108). Sparty already has 5 losses on the season, and it hasn't been terribly competitive in games against Power 6 conference teams, going 1-4 SU/ATS, with only a cover against Butler at the Breslin Center on Nov. 17 in 5 outings.

In addition to being undefeated so far, Baylor is also 5-0-1 ATS in the past 6 games, and 6-1-1 ATS in 8 games with a spread all season, with its lone non-cover coming at home against Gardner-Webb at home Nov. 12 with a big number on the board.

Over/Under

OVER 143.5 (-115) is a strong play in this neutral floor battle in The D.

The total has gone high in 4 of the past 6 games overall for the Bears, with Baylor tallying 88 or more points in 5 of the past 6 outings, and 7 of 9 games overall this season. And against Power 6 conference teams, the Bears have allowed an average of 81.7 PPG.

It's been all about the Under in Michigan State games, but the Over cashed last time out in a loss at Nebraska, and the Huskers' offense pales in comparison to the speed and accuracy Sparty will see from the Bears.
