Best NFL underdog picks and predictions for Week 16

The final stretch of the NFL season is in full force as we have 4 days of games in Week 16 for the holiday weekend. Can we find juicy underdog picks to make?

Week 15 wasn't particularly profitable for underdog bettors as 'dogs went just 4-12 straight up and against the spread (ATS).

Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's NFL odds and lines, and tab the best NFL Week 16 underdog bets to cash in on among SportbookWire's NFL expert picks and predictions.

As for my picks a week ago, they all failed. The New York Jets were shut out 30-0 by the Miami Dolphins, the New York Giants lost 24-6 to the New Orleans Saints while failing to cover as 6-point underdogs, and the Dallas Cowboys were annihilated by the Buffalo Bills 31-10.

My full-season record on picks is now even at 22-22-1 this season.

Time to change that.

Odds provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access Paste BN Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday at 2:40 p.m. ET. All games ET.

COMMANDERS (+140) at Jets – Sunday, 1 p.m. (CBS)

The Jets could have QB Trevor Siemian starting, with QB Zach Wilson in concussion protocol.

The Commanders rallied from down 28-7 to lose to the Rams 28-20 last Sunday.

And while the defense has allowed 28 or more points in 5 straight games, it is facing a Jets team that has scored 13 points or fewer in 7 of its last 8. The Jets scored 30 in a win over the Houston Texans Dec. 10 but averaged just 8.3 points per game (PPG) over the other 7 outings.

RAIDERS +10.5 (-125) at Chiefs – Monday, 1 p.m. (CBS)

The standard line is a 10-point spread, but shifting it half a point on the alternate line is the better play, even with the little bit of extra juice. I'm looking to avoid the push.

The Raiders are 4-1-1 ATS over their last 6 games and are coming off a 63-point performance.

They have allowed more than 21 points just once in the last 6 weeks, a 31-17 home loss vs. the Chiefs Nov. 26.

The Chiefs have won by more than 10 points only once in their last 7 games (Nov. 26) and beat New England by 10 last Sunday when favored by 10.5 points.

RAVENS +5.5 (-110) at 49ers – Monday, 8:15 p.m. (ABC)

The 49ers look unstoppable but did show a weakness last Sunday in their 45-29 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Playing without DL Arik Armstead and Javon Hargrave, they allowed Arizona to rush for 234 yards and score 29 points.

The statuses of Armstead and Hargrave are up in the air right now, and the Ravens can move the football. They have averaged 31.2 PPG over their last 8 and have won 8 of their last 9 games outright.

The Ravens' 1 loss over the last 9 games was by just 2 points — a 33-31 home loss vs. the Cleveland Browns Nov. 12.

At worst, this should be a game that goes down to the wire, decided by 3 or 4 points 1 way or the other.
