Colts at Falcons picks and predictions
Prediction
Colts 27, Falcons 20
Moneyline
After the Falcons lost to the 1-win Panthers giving them their 2nd win, it is hard to trust them. They have lost 5 of their last 7 games and have moved back to QB Taylor Heinicke as the starter. He is 0-2 as a starter this season.
The Colts, meanwhile, have won 5 of their last 6 games but only 1 of those wins is against anybody of note (their 27-20 win over the Buccaneers, who lead the NFC South). They lost to the same Saints 37-28 that the Falcons beat 24-15.
But if Onyemata isn't playing, and even if he isn't 100%, the Colts will be able to run the ball. RB Jonathan Taylor (thumb) is expected to return.
The Colts have scored 27 or more in 3 of their last 4.
BET COLTS (+120).
Against the spread
The Colts are 9-5 ATS this season. The Falcons are 4-10 ATS, making them a very unreliable ATS bet to back.
The Colts are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games. The Falcons are 3-7 ATS in their last 10.
But liking the Colts for the straight-up victory, passing on the spread for the plus-odds on the moneyline is the way to go.
PASS.
Over/Under
Three of the Falcons' last 4 games have not had more than 39 points. Two had 21 or fewer total points.
However, 4 of the Falcons' last 7 have had more than 45 total points.
Three of the Colts' last 4 have had over 45 points. They have scored 27 or more in 6 of their last 8 games.
BET OVER 45 (-110).
