College football Week 3 bowls parlay: Let's make some money

It's Week 3 of bowl season, and this is the point where we see a lot more ranked teams in action. We'll begin Friday with the Gator Bowl at noon ET, followed by 3 other games. On Saturday, we have 4 more games, all played between noon and 4:30 p.m. ET, including an intriguing matchup in the Peach Bowl in Atlanta, and the battle of the disrespected at the Orange Bowl at 4 p.m. ET.

The good news is that the weather will mostly cooperate for all 8 games on Friday and Saturday. Believe it or not, Memphis will have the chilliest temperatures, with the forecast for the Liberty Bowl on Friday calling for 41 degrees at kickoff, 20% chance of precipitation and 8-10 MPH. The windiest forecast is for the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, with sustained winds at 11-15 MPH, with gusts to 20 MPH.

After looking at FanDuel Sportsbook's NCAA football Week 3 Bowl odds, here is our "Let's make some money" college football parlay bet to cash in on among SportbookWire's college football picks and predictions.

Leg 1: CLEMSON -4.5 (-110) vs. Kentucky – Friday, noon ET (ESPN/ESPN+)

Gator Bowl -- Jacksonville, Fla.

The Clemson Tigers (8-4) meet the Kentucky Wildcats (7-5) in Duval. This will be the 14th all-time meeting, with Kentucky leading the series 8-5.

The past 3 meetings have been in a bowl game, as Clemson won the Peach Bowl 14-13 on Dec. 31, 1993. Kentucky picked up a 28-20 win in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 29, 2006, while Clemson eased by Kentucky 21-13 in the Music City on Dec. 27, 2009. That was the most recent meeting in the series.

The Tigers will have QB Cade Klubnik under center, and RBs Phil Mafah and Will Shipley will be in the mix, too. Between Klubnik, Mafah and Shipley, the trio combined for 18 rushing scores. WR Beaux Collins hit the transfer portal, but leading WR Tyler Brown is playing, as is TE Jake Briningstool, so the Clemson offense should be just fine.

While the Wildcats have RB Ray Davis expected to play, he is a potential opt-out candidate, and any slight injury or the game getting out of hand could mean he shuts it down early.

BACK THE TIGERS -4.5 (-110) to begin our parlay. The Tigers have plenty of impressive skill position players to make it a long day for the Wildcats.

Leg 2: MEMPHIS +9.5 (-106) vs. Iowa State – Friday, 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN/ESPN+)

Liberty Bowl -- Memphis, Tenn.

The Memphis Tigers (9-3) host the Iowa State Cyclones (7-5) at the Simmons Bank Liberty Bowl. While the Tigers had an atrocious defense this season, Memphis had an offense that was on point. It's hard to understand why it is an underdog by nearly double digits on its home field.

The Tigers do lose backup QB Tevin Carter to the transfer portal, but QB Seth Henigan will be under center. He completed 66.4% of his passes for 3,516 yards, 28 TD and 9 INT. And he'll have RB Blake Watson, and his 1,045 rushing yards and 14 TD, so all of the pieces are available. WRs Roc Taylor and Demeer Blankumsee are also available. That duo combined for 1,736 receiving yards and 10 scores.

The Cyclones will be without RBs Cartevious Norton and Eli Sanders, although RB Abu Sama III was the leading rusher, and he is available. Iowa State has some injury issues in the secondary, too, as S Ben Nikkel and Malik Verdon are each banged up and carrying questionable tags.

MEMPHIS +9.5 (-106) is on its home field, and it wouldn't be hard to see the Tigers win this game outright, too.

Leg 3: OLE MISS +3.5 (-105) vs. Penn State – Saturday, noon ET (ESPN/ESPN+)

Peach Bowl -- Atlanta, Ga.

The Ole Miss Rebels (10-2) and the Penn State Nittany Lions (10-2) hook up in Atlanta for one of the better non-playoff bowl games on the schedule.

Ole Miss has OT Micah Pettus out for this game due to an injury, an only TE Kyirin Heath and S Isheem Young are listed as transfer portal options, so the Rebels should be mostly intact for this game.

The Rebels have won 7 of their past 8 games since a disappointment to Alabama, and Ole Miss is 4-3-1 against the spread (ATS) in the 8-game spread.

The Nittany Lions won and covered in the final 2 games, but against winning teams, Penn State was outscored 44-27 while going 0-2 SU and ATS since Oct. 21. The Lions lost CB Kalen King and DE Chop Robinson as opt-outs for this game, and defensive coordinator Manny Diaz left for the top job at Duke. TE Theo Johnson elected to opt out, too. He was 2nd on the team with 32 catches for 325 yards and 6 TD.

OLE MISS +3.5 (-105) is a solid play catching the points, and an outright win wouldn't be shocking in the least.

Parlay payout: Bet $10 to profit $62.44 (payout = $72.44).

Leg 4-*: WYOMING -3.5 (-118) vs. Toledo – Saturday, 4:30 p.m. ET (CW Network/Barstool App)

Arizona Bowl -- Tucson, Ariz.

*-If you want to add a 4th play to this parlay.

The Toledo Rockets (11-2) meet the Wyoming Cowboys (8-4), and it's the end of an era. Wyoming coach Craig Bohl announced he'll be retiring after this game after an illustrious career.

While I believe Wyoming was going to be a strong play anyway, I really like the emotion "send coach out with a win" aspect. It also helps that all-everything Toledo QB Dequan Finn has hit the transfer portal.

The Cowboys were in this game last season, and they lost a heartbreaker to Ohio in a very good game. The 2nd time will be the charm for Wyoming, who closed out the regular season with 2 wins by a combined score of 84-15, covering both games as a double-digit favorite.

Parlay payout: Bet $10 to profit $123.82 (payout = $133.82).
