The Los Angeles Rams (8-7) will head across the country this weekend to face the New York Giants (5-10) at MetLife Stadium on New Year's Eve. Kickoff from the Meadowlands will be at 1 p.m. ET (FOX). They now hold the 6th seed in the NFC playoff picture, owning the tiebreaker over the Seattle Seahawks, who are also 8-7. With a win over the Giants and a loss by the Seahawks Sunday, the Rams will clinch a playoff berth.

The Giants have lost back-to-back games after winning 3 in a row, falling to the Saints and Philadelphia Eagles in the last 2 weeks. After benching QB Tommy DeVito at halftime of Monday's game, the Giants will keep rolling with QB Tyrod Taylor this week against the Rams.

The Rams are one of the hottest teams in football, winning 5 of 6 to get back in playoff contention. The offense is rolling, scoring at least 28 points in all 5 games since RB Kyren Williams' return, while the defense has done enough to limit opponents.

With the benefit of extra rest following a Thursday night game last week, the Rams should have no trouble with the Giants. However, at -275, it's not worth a bet. PASS.

Against the spread

It's really hard not to love the Rams in this spot. They're one of the best teams ATS this season, boasting a 9-5-1 record compared to the Giants' 6-8-1 mark. They also had a mini-bye since their last game, while the Giants are on a shorter week after playing Monday afternoon.

The Rams' last 2 wins were by 8 points each, but they should've won both by much more. They allowed the Commanders and Saints to each score 2 touchdowns in the final 8 minutes to make it a 1-score game. Those should've been 20-plus-point wins.
