Phoenix Suns at LA Clippers odds, picks and predictions

The Phoenix Suns (19-17) and LA Clippers (22-13) meet Monday at Crypto.com Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Let's analyze FanDuel Sportsbook's lines around the Suns vs. Clippers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Los Angeles leads 1-0

The Suns dropped 2 of the past 3 games, all at home, following up a 4-game win streak. The Suns just haven't been able to get any momentum going, and Phoenix is just 2-4 against the spread (ATS) in the past 6 games, and a dismal 4-15 ATS in the past 19.

One of those non-covers was in a 131-122 home setback against the Clippers on Thursday as the Over (231) cashed.

The Clippers had a 5-game win streak, and 4-game cover run, snapped by their roommates, the Los Angeles Lakers, on Sunday. The Clips lost 106-103 as 4.5-point favorites as the Under (232.5) easily cashed. In fact, the point total was the lowest since scoring 101 points back on Nov. 12 in a home loss to Memphis.

Despite the loss and non-cover, the Clippers are still a healthy 11-5 ATS in the past 16 games overall, and the Under is 5-1 in the past 6, with the lone Over result against the Suns in Phoenix in last week's meeting.

Suns at Clippers picks and predictions

Prediction

Clippers 117, Suns 109

Moneyline

The Clippers (-250) will cost you more than 2 times your potential return, and that's far too expensive for a standalone wager. Even as part of a multi-team parlay, including Los Angeles would suck all of the value out of your ticket.

AVOID, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

The CLIPPERS -6.5 (-106) are just playing better basketball lately, sans the loss to the Lakers last time out. The Suns +6.5 (-114) have been very ordinary, and Phoenix just cannot seem to piece together any lengthy run of consistency.

And while potential Suns bettors might point out that the Clips are playing on no rest, it was a "road" game on Sunday, technically, but it was in the same arena. The lack of travel mitigates the no rest factor. In fact, the last time the Clippers played back-to-back games at Crypto.com Arena, they won Dec. 12 by 20 points to easily cover as 3.5-point favorites against the Sacramento Kings on zero rest.

While Los Angeles is 2-3 straight up and ATS in 5 games on no rest, all 3 of the losses and non-covers came in road games. The 2 wins and covers were games in which the Clippers played the following day in Crypto.com Arena, too.

Over/Under

UNDER 230 (-112) is the way to go based on the trends lately for both sides.

The Clippers have seen the total go low in 5 of the past 6 games, although that lone Over was against the Suns in Phoenix. On the flip side, the Under is 3-2 in the past 5 games for the Suns while going 4-1 in the past 5 road games, including a visit against the Lakers in this building on Dec. 5.
