The Sixers have dropped 2 straight at home after a 120-109 loss to the Utah Jazz Saturday. C Joel Embiid missed that one with a swollen knee, and he'll be out Wednesday as well. G Tyrese Maxey is pulling the carriage as much as he can with 20+ points in 6 straight games.

The Hawks have dropped 2 in a row also, failing to cover as 2.5-point favorites, 117-100, in Orlando Sunday. G Trae Young had 31 points and 9 assists, but he has experienced resumed shoulder soreness. He's expected to suit up for this one, but he's 3-for-20 (15%) from 3-point range the last 2 games as it is.

Hawks 119, 76ers 111

Moneyline

The Hawks are banged up, but I'm a little surprised they're only slight favorites at home against the Embiid-less Sixers. The Sixers will get F Tobias Harris (ankle) back after a 1-game absence. However, after Maxey, where can you count on offense? G Kelly Oubre Jr. had 24 points in the last game, but he's a journeyman that will have ebbs and flows.

So while I don't like the shooting trends for Young, they have more supplemental offense than the Sixers. Embiid is averaging a monstrous 34.6 PPG, 11.8 RPG and 6.0 APG, and that can't be replaced.

Take the HAWKS -120 or skip to the spread instead.

Against the spread

The Hawks are just 8-27 ATS this season and 2-12 at home, but if you're on board with them taking this one at home, you might as well lay the 1½ points at a reduced rate.

Take the HAWKS -1.5 (-110).

Over/Under

Atlanta is tied for 3rd in the league at 122.2 PPG, and Philly is 6th at 119.5. However, these aren't the prototypical versions of those teams. Each scored just 110 and 109, respectively in their last game. The Over is just 4-6 head-to-head the last 10 meetings with their studs. This total is too high for me.

Take the UNDER 245.5 (-110).
