Brooklyn Nets at Portland Trail Blazers odds, picks and predictions

The Brooklyn Nets (16-23) and the Portland Trail Blazers (10-29) meet Wednesday at Moda Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Let's analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the Nets vs. Trail Blazers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Trail Blazers lead 1-0

The Nets are coming off a disappointing 96-95 OT loss against the Miami Heat on Monday, pushing at most shops as 1-point underdogs as the Under (220.5) still easily connected. The Nets are in freefall, dropping 8 of the past 9 games straight up while going 1-8-1 against the spread (ATS) in the previous 10 outings. Brooklyn is also 2-13-1 ATS in the past 16 contests.

The Trail Blazers have dropped 4 in a row, although they covered last time out against the Phoenix Suns in a 127-116 loss as 14-point underdogs on Saturday. Portland's last victory was actually Jan. 7, a 134-127 OT win over the Nets at Barclays Center, cashing as a 9.5-point underdog as the Over (226) hit.

Nets at Trail Blazers picks and predictions

Prediction

Trail Blazers 110, Nets 107

Moneyline

The TRAIL BLAZERS (+200) are worth a look for the chance to double up.

Neither of these has been killing it lately, with the Blazers losing 4 in a row since upending the Nets (-250) in Brooklyn.

And the Nets have lost 8 of the past 9 games overall, including a home game to Portland.

While the Blazers have a lengthy injury list, with an illness going through the locker room, they should have enough key players to get the job done again.

Against the spread

If you're a little more on the conservative side, or you're spooked by the injury/illness list, TRAIL BLAZERS +6.5 (-110) is still a very good play.

While Portland could be shorthanded, the Nets -6.5 (-110) are missing Sharpe, Simmons and Whitehead, too. And with or without that trio, Brooklyn hasn't exactly been lighting the world afire. This team is just 2-13-1 ATS across the past 16 games, so until the Nets start ticking off covers on the regular, keep fading them.

Over/Under

The UNDER 223.5 (-110) is the best way to go in this game.

The Blazers have had some really ugly scoring totals lately, going for 93 or fewer points in 3 of the past 4 outings while posting 103 points or less in 6 of the past 8.

The Nets went for just 95 points in overtime last time out, and they've scored 108 or fewer points in 6 of the past 8 outings. The total here is a bit inflated, perhaps because the teams just combined for 261 points in an overtime game in Brooklyn last week. It won't happen again.
