Dallas Stars at Philadelphia Flyers odds, picks and predictions
The Dallas Stars (26-12-5) take on the Philadelphia Flyers (24-14-6) Thursday at Wells Fargo Center. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the Stars vs. Flyers odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.
The Stars emphatically defeated the LA Kings 5-1 Tuesday night. We took the Stars ML and the Under, and both cashed. C Roope Hintz and C Joe Pavelski each scored their 18th goal of the season in the rout. The Stars have won 7 straight games against the Flyers, including a 5-4 overtime win in Dallas in October.
The Flyers are coming off a 4-2 win over the St. Louis Blues Monday. They played fast and controlled the game from beginning to end. They've won 4 in a row and 5 of 6. RW Travis Konecny leads the club with 21 goals and 40 points. A team that really wasn't expected to contend sits in 2nd place in the Metropolitan Division.

Stars at Flyers projected goalies
Jake Oettinger (13-8-2, 2.87 GAA, .905 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Samuel Ersson (11-5-3, 2.33 GAA, .910 SV%, 3 SO)
Oettinger allowed 4 goals in his 1st game back from a month-long injury last week, but he has stopped 51 of 53 shots in his 2 starts since. "Otter" stopped 61 of 63 shots he saw against the Flyers in 2 starts last season.
Ersson has been awesome in backup duties, and the Flyers may have their version of Boston's dynamite duo in net with underrated Carter Hart as well. Ersson stopped all 35 shots Winnipeg fired at him in his last start Saturday. He was in net for the 5-4 OT loss to Dallas Oct. 21, stopping 20 of 25 shots.

Stars at Flyers picks and predictions
Prediction
Stars 3, Flyers 2
Moneyline
The Stars are moderate favorites here, but this game is a pick 'em to me, and I think it may need overtime again. Two things move the needle for me. Dallas is a great road team at 12-4-3, while Philadelphia is a so-so home team at 10-8-2. I would probably feel the Flyers more if Hart were between the pipes for this one. But I give the advantage in net to Dallas also.
Take the STARS -135.
Puck line/Against the spread
As mentioned, I expect another tight game, and Philadelphia's puck line is priced out of consideration.
I would consider a small wager on TRAVIS KONECNY UNDER 3.5 SHOTS (-135). He has cashed this bet in 4 straight games.
Over/Under
The Flyers are 3-6-1 O/U over the last 10, but Dallas is 7-3. The Under is also 3-6-1 in the last 10 meetings between the clubs. Both goalies are playing well. I'd feel more comfortable at 6.5, but there is push potential at 6.
LEAN UNDER 6 (-120).
