Portland Trail Blazers at Oklahoma City Thunder odds, picks and predictions

The Portland Trail Blazers (12-30) and Oklahoma City Thunder (29-13) meet at Paycom Center Tuesday. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. ET. Let's analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the Trail Blazers vs. Thunder odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Thunder lead 2-0

The Trail Blazers are coming off a non-cover as 11.5-point underdogs in a 134-110 loss at the Los Angeles Lakers Sunday as the Over (229.5) hit. Portland had won its previous 2 games and had covered in 3 straight before Sunday's loss.

The Thunder have won and covered in back-to-back games. Their most recent win was as 3-point underdogs in a 102-97 victory at the Minnesota Timberwolves Saturday as the Under (230) cashed.

Oklahoma City covered in both meetings this season, and the Over/Under (O/U) went 1-1. The most recent meeting was a 139-77 blowout win for the Thunder Jan. 11 as the Under (237) hit.

Trail Blazers at Thunder picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 116, Trail Blazers 113

Moneyline

The Thunder (-900) should win, but I wouldn't recommend risking $900 to win $100.

PASS. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

The Thunder may struggle with motivation after taking down the No. 1 team in the West -- especially against an opponent that they recently beat by 62 points. Oklahoma City is back home after a 4-game road trip, and I don't see it getting up for this game and having the focus necessary to win by 14 or more.

Portland is coming off a bad loss at the Lakers but has generally played well over its last 4 games. This is a big spot for the Trail Blazers, who have definitely not forgotten how they performed last time they were in this building.

BET TRAIL BLAZERS +13.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The Under has hit in 5 of the Trail Blazers' last 7 games and in 4 of 6 for the Thunder.

Defense will definitely be a priority for Portland in this game after allowing 134 or more points in 3 of the last 4 meetings. The Trail Blazers are much healthier this time around and should benefit from having C Deandre Ayton, who is 1st in defensive real plus-minus among centers.

BET UNDER 233.5 (-110).
