Edmonton Oilers at Anaheim Ducks odds, picks and predictions
The Edmonton Oilers (29-16-1) take on the Anaheim Ducks (18-30-2) at Honda Center Friday. Puck drop is scheduled for 10:10 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook's lines around the Oilers vs. Ducks odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.
The Oilers lost 3-1 at the Vegas Golden Knights Tuesday night, failing to cash as a (-149) favorite. The defeat for Edmonton snapped a 16-game winning streak, 1 shy of the record set by the Pittsburgh Penguins back in the 1992-93 season. C Connor McDavid -- who has the 3rd-shortest odds to win the Hart Trophy (+430 at FanDuel Sportsbook) -- was disappointed but not discouraged after the loss.
This is the 1st game post-All-Star break for the Ducks. Entering the break, Anaheim was 3-0-1 in its last 4 games, but it has not fared well recently against the Oilers. The Ducks have lost 5 straight games to Edmonton by a combined score of 30-7 dating back to Jan. 23, 2023.

Oilers at Ducks projected goalies
Calvin Pickard (5-2-0, 2.34 GAA, .915 SV%, 1 SO) vs. John Gibson (10-19-1, 3.05 GAA, .901 SV%)
Pickard has won his last 4 starts. He was the 1st-ever player selected by Vegas back in 2017, but never suited up for the Knights, as he was traded to Toronto a couple months after the expansion draft. The 31-year-old has also played for the Philadelphia Flyers, Arizona Coyotes and Detroit Red Wings.
Gibson has been the subject of trade rumors for months along with a number of Ducks veterans. The 30-year-old has the lowest save percentage (.903) and highest GAA (3.11) of his career in February games.

Oilers at Ducks picks and predictions
Prediction
Oilers 3, Ducks 2
Moneyline
INCLUDE OILERS (-295) IN A ML PARLAY.
If you like PITTSBURGH ML (-125) at the Minnesota Wild like I do, I could certainly support a 2-leg parlay with the Penguins and OILERS (-295) at +141 odds. I personally just would not lay that much juice on Edmonton ML alone.
Puck line/Against the spread
BET DUCKS +1.5 (-102).
C Adam Henrique is riding a 6-game point streak, accumulating 12 points total during that stretch. RW Jakob Silfverberg has been coming on offensively, with 5 points in the final 4 games before the break.
These 2 veterans, who are both top 10 in goals scored in franchise history, are free agents at the end of the year and very well could be traded. RW Frank Vatrano, the team's leading scorer with 22 goals, also could be dealt, although the All-Star has expressed his happiness in Anaheim. This aforementioned trio along with RW Troy Terry, who leads the team in points and is also riding a 6-game point streak, will help keep this game close.
Over/Under
BET UNDER 6.5 (-110).
The Ducks are coming off a long layoff, taking on an Oilers team that leads the NHL in shots per game (33.72). The Ducks won't be able to stop McDavid and C Leon Draisaitl, but expect them to muck up this game as they work to limit the Oilers superstars.
