Philadelphia 76ers at Washington Wizards odds, picks and predictions

The Philadelphia 76ers (30-21) face the Washington Wizards (9-42) on Saturday. Tip-off from Capital One Arena is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let's analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the 76ers vs. Wizards odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Philadelphia leads 3-0

Both teams are on a back-to-back and are certainly tired. The 76ers were down 16 entering the 4th quarter yesterday against the Atlanta Hawks, but they closed to gap and were just 6 points away with 30 seconds left. It was still too much to overcome and the Hawks won 127-121. G Tyrese Maxey (illness) sat out and is questionable for this one.

The Wizards were in a similar situation, down 13 in the 4th quarter against the Boston Celtics. They roared back and were just 4 points down with 50 seconds left. But they, too, lost 133-129.

76ers at Wizards picks and predictions

Prediction

Wizards 119, 76ers 109

Moneyline

The Wizards are the last NBA team without a win on no rest (0-8 SU) and are 8-33 after a loss.

But more importantly, without C Joel Embiid, Philadelphia has struggled. They have lost 4 in a row, and 8 of their last 9. It is certainly worth a sprinkle on Washington, even though they don't exude confidence.

LEAN WIZARDS +145 (0.5 units).

Against the spread

While Washington is 8-33 straight up after a loss, against the spread they are a much stronger 21-19-1.

I don't have any faith in Philadelphia until they demonstrate some sort of consistency. They have recently lost to the Brooklyn Nets, Portland Trailblazers, Golden State Warriors and Atlanta Hawks, and the Hawks were the only loss in single digits.

BET WIZARDS +4.5 (-115).

Over/Under

In the last 3 games the 76ers offense has cratered. They are shooting 42.6% from the field, the 2nd worst in that stretch and well below their 47.3% average. From beyond the arc they are making just 29.2%, which is dead last.

The Wizards defense may not be good overall but from 3 they are better than average. They allow the 8th fewest attempts (33.8) and 12th fewest makes (12.6). This is a formula for a lower scoring game.

LEAN UNDER 237.5 (-115).
