St. Louis Blues at Montreal Canadiens odds, picks and predictions
The St. Louis Blues (27-21-2) take on the Montreal Canadiens (21-22-8) Sunday at Bell Centre. Puck drop is set for 1 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the Blues vs. Canadiens odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.
The Blues won a gritty 3-1 game in their 1st action after the All-Star break Saturday at the Buffalo Sabres. LW Jake Neighbours scored his 16th and 17th goals of the season. The Blues outhit the Sabres 24-14, and while they were outshot 34-26, it felt like they controlled the offensive zone time throughout.
The Habs are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Dallas Stars at home Saturday. They were only able to muster 20 shots on goal in the game. The Habs have traded wins and losses over the last 4 games and are 4-4-2 over the last 20. The Canadiens lost 6-3 in St. Louis in November.

Blues at Canadiens projected goalies
Jordan Binnington (17-13-2, 2.92 GAA, .908 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Jake Allen (5-9-3, 3.43 GAA, .901 SV%)
Binnington hasn't played since the 1-0 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets Jan. 30, where he stopped 21 of 22 shots. He went 6-2-1 with a 2.10 GAA and .930 SV% in January. He was shelled for 11 goals in 2 starts against Montreal last season.
Allen, the former Blues goalie, hasn't played since Jan. 27 in a 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. He stopped 30 of 33 shots in the overtime loss and was 1-2-1 with a 3.50 GAA and .894 SV% in January. He allowed 4 goals to the Blues twice last season but came away victorious both times.

Blues at Canadiens picks and predictions
Prediction
Canadiens 4, Blues 3
Moneyline
Both teams are on back-to-backs, and the Blues are super inconsistent. They responded to the absolute egg they laid before the All-Star break with a solid showing in Buffalo, but they are still very beatable. Montreal held strong with Dallas but just didn't have enough to get over the hump.
I like the CANADIENS -105 at home.
Puck line/Against the spread
Both sides are priced out of consideration.
PASS.
Over/Under
These teams have had at least 9 goals in 3 straight meetings. STL is 6-3-1 O/U over the last 10, and Montreal is 5-5. They don't really strike you as Over teams, but when playing one another, they make a flat 6 goals look really good.
Take the OVER 6 (-115).
