The Kings snapped a 2-game straight-up (SU) and against-the-spread (ATS) skid with a cover as 3-point home favorites in a 135-106 win vs. the Denver Nuggets Friday as the Under (230) hit.

The Thunder, who have the 2nd-best ATS record in the league at 31-20-1, have lost back-to-back games SU and have failed to cover in 3 straight. Their most recent outing was a 146-111 loss at the Dallas Mavericks Saturday as the Over (239) cashed; Oklahoma City was a 1.5-point favorite.

The Kings have covered in both meetings against the Thunder this season, and the Over/Under (O/U) has gone 1-1. Sacramento was a 1.5-point home underdog in the Nov. 10 meeting and a 2.5-point home favorite Dec. 14.

Moneyline

The consensus in the market is that the THUNDER (-150) should still be favored despite losing the 1st 2 meetings and playing on a back-to-back. The Kings are coming off a 29-point win over the defending NBA champions, and this line still moved toward Oklahoma City Saturday night.

BET THUNDER (-150) if you are comfortable risking $150 to win $100. If not, look to the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

For those who are uncomfortable betting the ML, this spread is still at a reasonable number. While I don't believe in trap games, this is a spot where some bettors will get burned thinking the Kings catching 3.5 is free money. Oklahoma City is 14-7 ATS as a home favorite this season and 5-3 ATS when playing on no rest.

I prefer the ML, but I'm not against laying the points with THUNDER -3.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The Over is 30-22 in Thunder games this season and 26-23-2 for the Kings. However, Oklahoma City should put forth a much better effort on the defensive end after allowing 146 points Saturday. The Thunder know that the Kings are among the best offenses in the NBA -- 8th-highest scoring team at 118.7 points per game -- and Oklahoma City will be extra motivated to not give up 120-plus points for a 4th straight outing.
