2024 Bluegreen Vacations Duel 2 odds, picks and predictions

The NASCAR Cup Series returns Thursday with the 2024 Bluegreen Vacations Duel races at Daytona International Speedway as part of Speedweeks. The green flag drops for Duel 2 at approximately 8:45 p.m. ET (FS1). Let's analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the 2024 Bluegreen Vacations Duel 2 odds, and make our expert NASCAR picks and predictions.

Bluegreen Vacations Duel 2: What you need to know

  • Penske Racing driver Ryan Blaney, the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series champ, is tied with RFK Racing driver Brad Keselowski and Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin with the shortest odds (+600) to win Duel 2
  • Blaney won the 2018 Duel 1 race in his No. 12 Ford, but he hasn't sniffed checkers in the Thursday's Daytona races since
  • Keselowski never won a Duel race in a Penske ride, but he picked up a win in the 2022 Duel 1 as a member of RFK with Matt McCall atop his pit box
  • Hamlin, fresh off a victory at the Busch Clash at the Los Angeles Coliseum, has picked up wins in 3 different Duel races, with the last checkered flag coming in 2017 in Duel 2. Each of his 3 career Duel wins have been in the 2nd race of the evening

Bluegreen Vacations Duel 2 – Expert pick

BUBBA WALLACE (+900) is back with co-owner Michael Jordan's 23XI Racing team, and he is looking to make a splash. Daytona International Speedway has been one of Wallace's best tracks as he leads all active drivers with a 12.9 Average-Finish Position (AFP) in 13 career starts. Wallace knows how to bring it at a superspeedway, and he is a nice play in this 60-lap shootout.

Bluegreen Vacations Duel 2 – Contender

Joe Gibbs Racing driver CHRISTOPHER BELL (+1200) was 2nd to Logano in last season's Duel 1 race, picking up 9 points in the 60-lap event last February.

The driver of the No. 20 Toyota wasn't particularly sharp in Thursday's qualifying, posting a best speed of just 179.101 mph, which was just 32nd among the field. However, based upon last season's near-win in the Duel 1 qualifier, Bell is a decent value for a chance to multiply your initial wager by 12 times.

Bluegreen Vacations Duel 2 – Long shot

Among the long-shots, Front Row Motorsports driver MICHAEL MCDOWELL (+1400) is your best bet. He has a bit of an ax to grind after just getting edged out in qualifying by Penske Racing driver Joey Logano for Sunday's Daytona 500 pole.

McDowell has never been won a Duel race as a full-time driver, but he was a rather solid 5th in last season's Duel 1 in a stacked race featuring Logano, Bell, Hamlin and Wallace, among others.
