Minnesota Timberwolves at Portland Trail Blazers odds, picks and predictions
The Minnesota Timberwolves(38-16) take on the Portland Trail Blazers (15-38) Thursday with tip-off from Moda Center set for 10 p.m. ET. Let's analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the Timberwolves vs. Trail Blazers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.
Season series: Timberwolves lead 2-0
It's the matchup your smartphone loathes because of the long team names.
The Wolves have won 3 straight, and 4 of 5, after a 121-109 victory over these Blazers Tuesday. G Anthony Edwards took over the game with 41 points on 16-for-27 shooting (4-for-8 from distance). The Wolves are 19-11 on the road, and that's a big reason why they're the top seed in the West right now.
The Blazers have lost 5 in a row now and are 9-16 on their home court. C Deandre Ayton did his part Tuesday with 22 points and 16 boards. Even more impressive is he did it against a tough interior defender in C Rudy Gobert. Ayton is averaging 18.8 PPG and 11.3 RPG in 4 February games.

Timberwolves at Trail Blazers and predictions
Prediction
Timberwolves 110, Trail Blazers 108
Moneyline
Edwards is listed as questionable, but he was listed as questionable Tuesday before dropping 41. However, with this being the final game before the All-Star break, you never know if he'll play or how motivated he'll be.
I'm not ready to anoint the Blazers the victors here exacting their revenge, but I think this one will be closer. So let's roll with DEANDRE AYTON OVER 14.5 POINTS (-105). He has 15+ points in 8 of 9 and 18+ in 3 straight.
Against the spread
As we touched on previously, I love the spread here for the Blazers. Despite being 3-7 straight up, they're 5-5 ATS over the last 10. This is a trap game for Minnesota, and the Blazers catching 9.5 points is my favorite bet in the Association Thursday.
Take the TRAIL BLAZERS +9.5 (-115).
Over/Under
The Wolves are 4-6 O/U over the last 10, and Portland is 5-5. The Over is 1-1 in the 2 meetings this season, and in the one the Under cashed, they still posted 209 points. Ayton was out, and G Anfernee Simons might as well have been as he was 0-for-10 from the floor. These teams put up 230 the other night on a 213.5, and the total only went up 1? Sign me up for the OVER 214.5 (-110).
