Baylor, ranked No. 13 in the Paste BN Sports Coaches Poll, lost at Kansas in its last road game, last Saturday. But the Bears bounced back with a midweek triumph on home hardwood. They covered a 7-point spread in a 79-62 win over Oklahoma Tuesday.
The Mountaineers have struggled mightily this season and appear to be headed to their lowest win total in more than a decade. In its last game (Monday), West Virginia lost 81-65 at TCU. They filed a loss against the spread (+13) and this month are 0-3 straight up and 0-3 ATS.

The Bears are the lean, and this is an expensive way to leverage that. PASS.
Against the spread
Baylor is 12-5 ATS as a favorite West Virginia is 5-10 ATS (and 15 for its last 45) as an underdog.
Since 2021, BU is 5-0 straight up and 4-1 ATS in this series.
The Bears have an exceptional offense, one that ranks in the BartTorvik top-30 in overall efficiency, effective field-goal percentage, offensive rebounding percentage and free-throw frequency rate. BU is the nation's top 3-point shooting team at 41.2%.
And those numbers have traveled well. The Bears are 3-0 ATS over their last 3 road games. They did suffer a Quad III road loss at Oklahoma State Jan. 6, but that contest can largely be written off due to an out-of-bounds shooting performance not likely to be repeated.
West Virginia is not a good shooting team. It has struggled from 3-point range over its last 3 games (29.2%), and FT frequency is about the only category in which the home five can stay with Baylor in this one.
Put the odds on all those other components of winning basketball culminating in a Bears win by a double-digit total.

Over/Under
The last 6 BU-WVU games have produced 5 Overs. And the last 11 WVU home games lined with a total between 145-149.5 have seen the Over go 7-4.
This one lays out as a mid-pace game without a ton of expected perimeter frequency. But other scoring areas like FT frequency, turnover-transition ball and rebound put-backs do pop.
Risk-tolerant bettors may want to take a crack at the OVER 146.5 (-115) play as listed, perhaps with a parcel of a unit on the table. Waiting out a better price on the current total -- or better yet, a drop to the 145 range -- would be prudent as well.
