Maryland at Wisconsin odds, picks and predictions
The Maryland Terrapins (14-12, 6-9 Big Ten) are in Madison to meet the Wisconsin Badgers (17-9, 9-6 Big Ten) Tuesday night at the Kohl Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET (Peacock). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook's lines around the Terrapins vs. Badgers odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.
Both schools enter their only meeting this season with just 1 win in February. The Terps took down Iowa at home 78-66 before losing 85-80 Saturday in College Park vs. No. 14 Illinois. The Badgers lost on the road 88-86 in OT to the Hawkeyes on Saturday, their 2nd OT loss this month.
A 62-54 home victory vs. lowly Ohio State is the only win in February for Wisconsin, however they failed to cover the 9-point spread. Wisconsin is 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games, with 4 Overs hitting in that stretch.
Maryland boasts the top scoring defense in the conference at 64.6 points per game allowed. One major disparity statistically is blocks per game: The Terps average 4.9 blocks a game, more than 3 ahead of the Badgers, who are last in the conference (1.7 BPG).

Maryland at Wisconsin picks and predictions
Prediction
Maryland 67, Wisconsin 66
Moneyline
TAKE A SHOT ON THE TERPS ML +255.
I would suggest a half-unit play as Maryland is just 3-6 overall on the road this season. G Jahmir Young is 24-for-24 from the free throw line in his last 2 games, and he acknowledged his missed opportunity on a breakaway in Maryland's crushing loss vs Illinois. Expect the 5th-year senior to bounce back and come through in the clutch at the line late in the game.
Against the spread
BACK MARYLAND +7.5 (-110).
St. John's coach Rick Pitino probably wishes he still had G AJ Storr, Wisconsin's leading scorer at 16.5 points per game. However, the sophomore has been cold from downtown of late; over his last 5 games he is just 3 of 16 on 3-point attempts. How is Wisconsin going to cover 7.5 points? With F Steven Crowl? I would not bet on that despite 38 points in his last games. Especially going against Maryland F Donta Scott, who avoided injury after a freak accident slipping on a wet floor pregame last weekend.

Over/Under
PASS.
The Terps have been heating up offensively, averaging nearly 78 PPG in their last 3 games. Maryland is a top-20 team in defensive efficiency, but they just gave up a season-high 85 points to Illinois. The Badgers are not as strong on offense as the Illini, but it's still tough to forecast the pace of this game. Plus, as mentioned Wisconsin has played in 2 Under-killing OT games already this month. Lean Over, but I'm going to pass.
