Brooklyn Nets at Toronto Raptors odds, picks and predictions
The Brooklyn Nets (21-33) and Toronto Raptors (19-36) meet Thursday for a 7 p.m. ET tip-off at Scotiabank Arena as the teams return to action after the All-Star break. Let's analyze FanDuel Sportsbook's lines around the Nets vs. Raptors odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.
Season series: Brooklyn leads 1-0 with a 115-103 home win as a 1.5-point favorite Nov. 28
Brooklyn was routed 136-86 by the Boston Celtics on Feb. 14, failing to cover as an 11.5-point road underdog. Brooklyn shot only 38.3% from the field in the loss and was outrebounded 51-31. The Nets enter on a 2-game skid and are 1-5 in their last 6 games.
Toronto suffered a 127-125 loss at the hands of the Indiana Pacers Feb. 14 but covered by the hook as a 2.5-point road underdog. The Raptors' lack of shooting and sloppiness with the ball led to the loss as they shot only 23.1% from deep and turned the ball over 15 times. Toronto has dropped 3 consecutive games and is an ugly 3-11 in its last 14 outings.

Prediction
Nets 116, Raptors 112
Moneyline
PASS.
The Nets (+110) will win, but I like their odds better on the spread as trends suggest that's the safer play. I am not a fan of doubling down by betting a team's moneyline and its spread for a full unit each. I could see divvying up 1½ units between the two. However, my recommendation is to just bet the Brooklyn spread (see below).
Against the spread
LEAN NETS +2 (-106).
Brooklyn has covered the spread in 6 consecutive matchups vs. Toronto and is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 meetings with the Raptors in Toronto. Brooklyn is 8-2 ATS in its last 10 meetings with Toronto overall. Toronto is only 1-2 ATS in its last 3 home games.
This is only a lean because the Raptors have been the slightly better team ATS this season and because neither squad has been good ATS recently.
Over/Under
LEAN UNDER 231.5 (-110).
The Under has hit in 5 of Brooklyn's last 6 overall and hit in the Nets' last road game. The Under has also been slightly safer for the Nets this season, being 28-25-1.
For Toronto, the Under is 3-1 in its last 4 overall, with all 3 games coming at home.
The Under has also hit in 5 of the last 6 Brooklyn-Toronto meetings.
This is only a lean because the Over and Under have been even for both teams this season.
