Nashville Predators at Los Angeles Kings odds, picks and predictions

The Nashville Predators (29-25-2) and the Los Angeles Kings (28-16-10) meet Thursday at Crypto.com Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET (ESPN+/hulu). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's lines around the Predators vs. Kings odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Predators are 2-for-2 on the 1st 2 stops of a 5-game road trip, topping the St. Louis Blues 5-2 on Saturday, and beating the Vegas Golden Knights 5-3 on Tuesday. The Over is on a 3-0 run, while going 5-1-1 in the past 6 outings.

The Preds will be looking to exact a little revenge after getting doubled up at home by the Kings 4-2 on Jan. 31 as the total (6) pushed at most shops. The road team has won each of the 2 meetings this season, as Nashville earned a 2-1 win on Jan. 18 at Crypto. In fact, the road team has won 3 straight in the series, and 5 of the past 7 meetings.

The Kings are flying high, posting 4 straight wins since a 7-0 whitewashing at the hands of the Buffalo Sabres on Feb. 13. L.A. has won the past 4 games by a 14-7 margin, allowing just a single goal in 3 of the outings. The Under is 3-1 in the past 4 games.

Predators at Kings projected goalies

Juuse Saros (21-21-2, 3.02 GAA, .902 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Cam Talbot (16-13-5, 2.53 GAA, .913 SV%, 2 SO)

Saros allowed just 2 goals on 37 shots in the 5-2 win in St. Louis on Saturday. It was a much-needed win and solid effort, as he is still just 2-2-0 with a 3.89 GAA and .902 SV% in 4 February starts.

Saros is 1-1-0 with a 2.03 GAA and .903 SV% in 2 starts against the Kings this season. He stopped all but one of the 34 shots he faced in the first start in Los Angeles on Jan. 18 in a 2-1 victory.

Talbot has been hot since the All-Star break, winning both of his starts, while allowing just a single goal in each of the assignments. He is 2-0-0 with a 1.74 GAA and .944 SV% in 2 starts and a relief appearance in February.

Predators at Kings picks and predictions

Prediction

Predators 3, Kings 2

Moneyline

The PREDATORS (+130) are worth a look as moderate underdogs on the road. The away team has won each of the 1st 2 meetings this season, while cashing in 4 of the past 5 in this series.

Nashville skates in with a lot of confidence, posting a pair of victories in the first 2 road games, while outscoring the competition 10-5.

The Kings (-155) have won 4 in a row, so this won't be easy. But again, it's all about the road team in this series lately. And L.A. is just 3-3-3 in the past 9 games at home, including a 2-1 setback to the Preds on Jan. 18.

Puck line/Against the spread

The Predators +1.5 (-190) are just a tad too expensive on the puck line, costing you nearly 2 times your return if you require a little bit of insurance.

If you like Nashville, just play it straight up, and AVOID the puck line.

Over/Under

The UNDER 6 (-115) is a decent play, as both Saros and Talbot have been playing well of late.

The Under has cashed in each of the past 3 starts by Talbot, and the total has gone low in 9 of his past 12 assignments. The Under is 7-3 in the past 10 for the Kings at home, too.

For the Predators, the Over is on a 3-0 run, while going 5-1-1 in the past 7 games. However, the Under cashed in the most recent trip to Los Angeles on Jan. 18, and the Under is 8-5-1 in the previous 14 games.
