Washington State at Arizona odds, picks and predictions

The No. 22 Washington State Cougars (20-6, 11-4 Pac-12) and the No. 4 Arizona Wildcats (20-5, 11-3) put their respective winning streaks on the line Thursday in Tucson. Tip-off at McKale Center is scheduled for 11 p.m. ET (FS1). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook's lines around the Washington State vs. Arizona odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

The Cougars enter winners of 7 in a row, most recently defeating Stanford Saturday 72-59 as 7.5-point favorites in Pullman. Wazzu prevailed back on Jan. 13 against the Wildcats at home, winning outright as 9-point dogs 73-70. Senior F Isaac Jones recorded a season-high 13 rebounds while also leading the Cougars with 24 points in the victory.

Arizona has lost only once since that defeat in Pullman as it was upset by 18.5-point home underdog Oregon State Jan. 25. The Wildcats have reeled off 6 straight wins since, and over the last 3 games, no team has averaged more points per game in all of college basketball (103.0). That number is aided by a 105-99 triple overtime victory as 5-point favorites over Utah Feb. 8, a night that saw senior G Pelle Larsson score a season-high 27 points.

Washington State at Arizona picks and predictions

Prediction

Arizona 77, Washington State 71

Moneyline

PASS, but feel free to include ARIZONA (-1050) in a parlay.

Wildcats C Oumar Ballo was just 4-11 FG, 3-7 FT in the 3-point loss in Pullman. Expect Ballo, the conference leader in field-goal percentage (61.4%) to have a much more efficient game this time around.

Arizona leads the Pac-12 in FT made per game (17.7), and rank 2nd nationally in rebounds (43.3) and 3rd in assists (19.0) per game. The 'Cats are a National Championship contender, and they should remain undefeated at home after Thursday night.

If you can stomach laying 145-155 juice, a 4-leg ML parlay with Arizona, Liberty (-420 at FIU), Purdue (-1600 vs. Rutgers) and Northwestern (-720 vs. Michigan) could be a fun sweat.

Against the spread

BACK WASHINGTON STATE +12.5 (-102).

Wazzu made history this week, becoming the 1st school to sweep conference awards twice in a season. It was the 2nd time Jones was named Pac-12 Player of the Week, while G Myles Rice earned Freshman of the Week for a 7th time (4th week in a row). This is too many points to be giving a talented Cougars team, even on the road.

Over/Under

PASS.

The lean would be to the UNDER with how strong Washington State's defense is, as Arizona coach Tommy Lloyd has pointed out. However, it's tough to recommend this play given how well Arizona has been scoring on the offensive end recently as well as during the course of the season. The Wildcats play fast too. Only Bryant (77.7) averages more possessions per game than Arizona (77.5).
