Purdue, which is No. 3 in the Paste BN Sports Coaches Poll, bounced back from a loss to Ohio State with a 96-68 victory at home Thursday night against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. The Boilermakers covered the spread as a 14.5-point favorite and the Over (140) hit.
The Boilermakers dominated on the glass, outrebounding the Scarlet Knights 35-22. Surprisingly though, National Player of the Year candidate C Zach Edey had his streak of 10 straight double-doubles snapped. He scored 25 points, but only had 7 rebounds.
Michigan dropped its 4th straight game on Thursday, 76-62 to Northwestern, failing to cover the spread as a 12-point underdog as the Under (140.5) hit. G Nimari Burnett led the way in points for the Wolverines with 15. Michigan has struggled to put the ball in the basket, scoring just 63 points per game over the 4-game losing streak.
Purdue destroyed the Wolverines 99-67 in their 1st matchup on Jan. 23. The Boilermakers easily covered the 17.5-point spread and the Over (152.5) hit.

The Wolverines were dismantled by the Boilermakers in their 1st meeting. Michigan is 7-20 ATS this season and has covered just once in their last 10 games. At this point, Michigan is just playing out the string of a lost season.
Purdue learned a hard lesson last Sunday when they lost to a lesser Ohio State team on the road. You have to think that Matt Painter will not let his bunch look past this Wolverines team.

Over/Under
The total is hard to handicap between these teams, which is why I’m going to stay away. Michigan has gone Under in 6 of its last 7 while Purdue has been Over in 3 of its last 5. In the last 5 games between the teams, the Over is 3-2. I see this bet as a coin flip, so I’m going to AVOID.
