With an opportunity to take his 6-year-old son to watch his favorite Major League baseball player play in person, like any dad, Matthew Kandell had to capture the boy's overjoyed reaction on video.

“Christian got to go to his first ever baseball game in Miami when the Dominican Republic played Israel in the World Baseball Classic," Kandell said. The young fan, dressed in Manny Machado gear, is seen wiping away tears of joy while emphatically chanting “Let’s go Machado!”

"The video shows Christian’s raw emotion when Manny came up to bat,” said his dad. He never dreamed that video would go viral. Much less that Machado himself would see it...or respond to his young fan directly!

Watch the video above to see Christian's reaction to receiving a personal message from the MLB star.

Machado sent the pemessage just two days after the game. He also invited the young fan to another game so they could meet in person.

“My son’s mind was blown to get the video from Manny,” Kandell said. “It was a dream come true.”
