High School hooper, Kaylee Charles, had no idea what was in store when she walked onto the basketball court for a game in Mckeesport, Pennsylvania. When the announcer called her to the center court to watch a video in front of a packed crowd, Kaylee figured it would be a 17th birthday greeting from her mom via Facetime.

Mary Charles, a sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserve, had been deployed in Kuwait for more than nine months while Kaylee stayed home with her dad, Kenneth, and there was no indication when her mom was coming home, so this was a welcome surprise.

Unfortunately, the video feed appeared to stall at the crucial. However, it was all a ruse, as moments later, Mary’s mom walked out on the court.

Watch the video to see a birthday girl stunned by her military mom’s return.

And the birthday surprises weren’t over, as after the game, Kaylee’s parents informed her that her birthday present was the car she’d been dreaming about. Now that’s what you call a slam dunk!
